The current owner I believe bought it due to a property tax issue. He is very friendly with the family and dedicated to keeping Roy's legacy alive. The Ranch could not be in better hands.
The ranch is 67 acres.
They have occasional events, but it is not open to the public.
No. The primary filming locations for the Roy Rogers Show (1951-1957) were the movie ranches of the Santa Susanna Pass region between Chatsworth in the San Fernando and Simi Valley. Before buying this ranch, Roy and Dale owned a ranch property on the western edge of Chatsworth in the northwestern San Fernando Valley a few miles south of Santa Susanna Pass . The Rogers sold the Chatsworth property in the mid 1950s following the death of one of their children. The property was subdivided with street names to honor the characters and animals from the TV show. The original Rogers ranch house is still located in this neighborhood.
