We’ve adopted from here twice and everyone is always so sweet. They had a couple dogs hanging out behind the counter, multiple fun little rooms for the cats/kittens, even a bunny last time. We stopped in without an appt and learned they don’t allow you to walk through anymore because of the stress it causes all the dogs, which is great. But you can play with the kittens! It’s obvious by the cleanliness and staff that the animals are well cared for. Love to support them any way I can, whether it be adopting or donating.

Thank you for asking. Some people would just dump a dog they no longer want. Reaching out to a shelter/rescue is commendable. They have staff who work with dogs, so they are better equipped to go to a loving home. I am disabled, so I understand what you’re going through. I was able to work with my ‘shelter blessing’, so I no longer have that issue. Good luck to you.

By law if they're on a lease ,they must have a shelter and food and water out and 10 feet from any entrance that is the law. But you also can call animal control and they will also answer your questions. God bless
Animal control doesn't have a facility. They would need to go to the shelter great plains spca Independence campus. You would have to ask them if they'll take them.
Why cant you take it with you. Ive moved 6 times, always took my cat.
You would have to hold on to it till tomorrow. And then you can take it to Great Plains SPCA off of 78 Highway.
Please remember as well that you “should NOT feed or give treats to the dog” it teaches him to return in anticipation of more, that it is being rewarded for not staying home.
The independence law states that even a cat cannot be on another person's property it is against the law.
