We went to see Samantha for couples counseling twice now. At first of course it was a little nerve racking since neither I nor my spouse had done this before. However Samantha made us feel relaxed and at ease. It was surprisingly easy to open up about our problems and the things we wanted to accomplish as a couple. I would definitely recommend going if you have thought about it. I am so glad we did it and feel more connected to my partner and that we have a better communicate between us.

I've been working with Chris Kuhn for a few months and it's been a life changing experience. Chris is my third counselor after I didn't connect with my previous two. In the first session we discussed what I was looking for to make sure we were a good fit. Chris gets to know you on a personal level and makes the discussions relatable. I wanted someone that would challenge me - not just listen with no input. Chris helps you grow your comfort zone, gives you tools to use outside of your counseling sessions and really helps you work on becoming the best version of yourself.

In both individual and couples therapy, the counselor may support clients by exploring how they can make immediate changes within themselves that improve communication in their relationship but also explore larger issues of control and power. The goal is to get the participants to feel more empowered as well as provide them with skills for improving communication. The objective helps strengthen marriages by providing a space for discussion, problem-solving, and developing conflict resolution skills to help avoid (or manage) potential sticky situations when conflict inevitably arises.
It helps by reprogramming your brain waves. When you have had trama to the brain. It'll cause the waves to miss fire, like a spark plug in a car. So with nerofeedback it'll train them go back in a normal pattern. You'll react to things so much better and sleep. Oh sleep i can't tell you how my sleep patterns as been so much more healthier. Hope thus helps you. Oh it does take time. But if you put in the work it so worth it!
According to the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, about 70% to 80% of married couples show a "solid improvement" in their marriages after counseling. Additional studies have found that counseling helps increase satisfaction levels by 40%. The success rate varies greatly depending on how severe the couple's problems are and on the type of treatment they receive. Counselors don't actively promote divorce, but they do help people identify what conflicts exist between them and work with both members of a couple together or one at a time so that they can figure out new strategies for dealing with those issues rather than letting them continue without trying to fix them. This is good for all involved, even if it doesn't always lead directly to happiness or less discord at home.

I pay about $160 for my counseling sessions, that are an hour long. Like Rebekah said, it varies on type, and how often you meet with the counselor. You can call to get more information.
