Ekg Took EKG technician course. Instructor was so bad, I had to say something by week 2. The next day, we get told the class is fully cancelled because of instructor's incompetence. We started with 11 students, and after one week we had 2. They have no campus director in Kansas City and they cancelled this on us 1.5 weeks into the course. Not to mention, it was $800 total and they're giving only $725 back. The "book" is wrong about so many things, and it's apparently $25 and non-refundable. The book is about 60 pages, 20 of which are absolutely blank and 10 are review pages. The quiz after week one had 5/20 questions that we never went over, and aren't in the book. The slides used for lecture give different facts than the book. It's like a middle school teacher with no resources found images online. They don't even credit the images, which is illegal in publication. Not to mention the 12-lead EKG machine is decades old. They want to believe they are accredited enough to give you a good education, and they only have 1 of 3 EKG types on-hand. They said it would take up to 30 days to process my refund. At 29 days, I emailed them. The next morning I got an email showing that they have refunded me but it's up to my bank to process it, and that could be an extra week. They sent this email at 9:29am after I threatened to report them, and the refund was processed 12 minutes earlier. They totally forgot. Unprofessional doesn't begin to cover this. This is an ABSOLUTE SCAM. Please do not go here. If they don't steal your money first, you'll still be left not prepared for a job afterwards.

All smiles and mind and heart is cleared. A Learning and teaching experience and opportunity is valued here. Much success and would recommend definitely.

The office staff is truly incompetent , difficult to work with, and rude. I accepted a job and they need verification I passed the course final exam NOT THE NHA. Of course, the office won't sign the form, so I can attend my ORIENTATION FOR MY JOB. I was hired as a MA. They know I'm not certified yet. All they need is confirmation I completed the course. The office told me they have to wait for my NHA results to fill out the form which is absolutely ridiculous and not what the employer is asking for. Don't come here if you need the office to help you with landing a job! One of the coordinators was very rude when I asked a simple email question because I have not been receiving any from her. There is something wrong with their IT system. Also, the coordinator yelled at my teacher in front of everyone, extremely unprofessional and creates a toxic environment. Overall, I would find a different program to attend. EDIT: The response below yet still fails to acknowledge what the employer wants. THEY WANT TO KNOW IF I PASSED THE FINAL EXAM NOT NHA, TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.IT DOES NOT MATTER IF NHA IS APART OF THE PROGRAM. YOU CAN STILL WORK AS A MA. “the circumstances I find myself in?” I don’t find myself in any circumstances, YOU CREATE THEM. What a petty comment!

Don’t waste your money here, the will drop you if you get sick. Michelle ( CMA instructor) is very rude and dismissive towards her students, and I’ve learned very little due to this. She also does not teach vein puncture correctly, as she allowed a student to puncture a patient twice with the same needle. Melissa Jones ( new coordinator) is also very rude and doesn’t have a good idea of what is actually going on. I was essentially bullied today (07/14) by both of them and ended up having a panic attack, forcing me to leave. Melissa Jones then dropped me from the class without contacting me to see what was the problem. Very unprofessional and money hungry, will never recommend this outdated school to anyone. Be careful! Edit: Hi Melissa! Nice to see you can try to “ out “ me in the comments, this is your problem now you’re very unprofessional and I have still yet to be contacted by anyone. You all are thieves and incompetent, like I said I would never come back or recommend. Don’t see you all being open for much longer, thanks for your snarky response though.

You go through the classes and if you pass with a b or higher you are allowed to register for the national exam which gives you your certification! I'm in the program now! The national exam costs like 200$ or 300$ but certifies you
Hi Kay! Many of our graduates are hired at hospitals! Most technical schools are not accredited, so for technical fields like phlebotomy, medical assisting, EKG technician, and laboratory assisting, it's not necessary for schools to hold the same accreditation as 2- and 4-year colleges.
Hi Tiffany! The total cost of the program is $750, and this includes your book, supplies, tuition, externship fee, and registration fee. For most students, externship costs do not exceed $60 (typically a TB test if you don't already have one this year, and some sites require a drug test and/or background check or immunization records, but it varies by site). If you choose to become nationally certified (which is optional to work in the field) the cost of that exam is $117, which is paid to the NHA directly. You will need scrubs for your externship, but those can be any style/color as long as they are solid. The other commenter is correct that some sites require a labcoat as well, but this is not true for every site.
We paid $750 for my fiance to go here for Phlebotomy and she got a job right away. They let you pay of the class over a few weeks which helped us since she wasn't working
Hi Mikecia! We're sorry to hear you've been having trouble connecting. We return all voicemails within 24 hours in the event we're not able to get to the phone when you call. Please leave us a message and we'll be happy to speak with you soon! :)
It would all depend on what the problem is, maybe if you post your problem as a review they will evaluate it and help you personally since its affecting their review scores
Melissa is HORRIBLE about getting back to people. I've emailed her about 5 times and she doesn't get back to me at all.
Hi Angela--we can't help you with that over Google, but please leave an email and/or voicemail for Melissa and she'll be in touch soon!

Hi Tonya! We offer many schedules since everyone's needs are a little different. We have class offerings on weekends, evenings, mornings, and days. You can see our programs and full schedules at kcphleb.com!
Try calling around lunch time on Fridays....or look up the emails on the website. She's great about returning emails!
Hi Laneta! You would be qualified for the Accelerated Phlebotomy (because of your previous experience) which does not have an externship, so keep that in mind as an option. If you do want to enroll in the Phlebotomy program and participate in the externship, it's possible that we might be able to work with your facility depending on several factors. Since we can't control how long it takes clinical facilities to sign Affiliation Agreements, we can't guarantee that you would be placed at your place of employment, but we can look into once you start the program!
We do not have an EMT program, but we do have other courses that you might be interested in, including Medical Assisting. You can view all of our programs at kcphleb.com. Let us know if you have any questions!
Yes! All classes/labs for all programs are held at our campus location on 2838 Warwick Trfy. Your externship will be the only component that is conducted offsite.
Hi Destinee! Sorry if we missed you--if you leave a voicemail we'll get back to you as soon as we're able!
Hi Kaitlyn! To qualify for the Clinical Medical Assisting program, you need to be 18 years of age or older, and hold a highschool diploma or equivalent. You can register through our website and set up a payment plan on the first day of class. All books and supplies are provided for you and included in the total program cost of $1800.
Hi Lauren! The lengths of our programs are as follows. All classes meet twice a week. Phlebotomy - 7 Weeks (followed by one week of full-time externship) Accelerated Phlebotomy - 4 Weeks Clinical Medical Assisting - 11 Weeks EKG Technician - 6 Weeks Clinical Laboratory Assisting - 6 Weeks You can view all program information, including schedules and payment plans, at kcphleb.com!
Hi Kammy! We do not accept federal-level financial aid (like FAFSA or Pell grants), but we can accept funding from state, local, and private agencies, such as the Full Employment Council, an employer, or Goodwill. For students that are paying out of pocket, we do have payment plans available for each program, which start as low as $100 per week depending on which program you enroll into.
Hi Andrew! You can call the office on the start date to inquire if there are seats available once it's started, but typically once a class is listed as full, we are not able to add any additional students to the roster.
We'll provide your book and supplies, so just bring something to write with and a notebook if you like to take a lot of notes. We encourage you to wear scrubs, but they are not required for the first day. Make sure you wear closed-toe shoes that cover your whole foot!
Hi Cynthia! Registration fees are refundable for three business days, but not after the first day of class. If you paid more than just the registration fee, you will be eligible for a refund of the rest. You can call the office at 816-974-8823 if you have questions or would like to initiate a refund of unused tuition!
Hi Reagan! Like most technical schools, we do not carry accreditation (which is typically used by 2- and 4-year colleges to meet certain federal requirements) but our school and programs are fully certified by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and regulated by the state. Our graduates are also eligible to attain certification through the NCCA-accredited National Healthcareer Association if they would like to carry an accredited certification after graduation.
You don't have to! The only prerequisites for the Clinical Laboratory Assisting program are that you are 18 years of age or older and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. You will learn some phlebotomy in the Clinical Laboratory Assisting program, but the emphasis is on specimen handling, preparation, testing, and transport!
KCSP's Director is Bronte Clifford
