I recently transferred care of my 10 year old Bichon to Lakeside vet clinic after losing his brother to an after hours emergency. It was during that emergency that I learned our former vet did not offer after hours emergency care. He died minutes after we arrived in Burlington. Following this tragedy, I made it my mission to find a practice that would be available in our time of need, even it it was a Sunday at 3 in the afternoon. After calling around to various local vet practices, I realized not many offer this service these days. Luckily, my son and daughter in law recommended this practice in Tupper Lake. They have used this clinic for several years and are satisfied pet owners. We have had our first appointment to establish care and the intake exam was very thorough. The staff was professional in every way. At the end of the visit, I felt we had made the right choice with this practice. The best part of this is that I have piece of mind that if something happens to our dog after normal business hours, I will be able to reach the veterinarian and be seen if needed.

She was overly snarky and told me to sit down and not hold my puppy during his first visit. He was scared when he came out of the room, he normally is so excited he piddles a lil bit.

I don’t know why there is so many good ratings here, anybody in town knows not to take your pet here. This vet has previously killed many pets going into surgery, giving unnecessary shots and medications, giving the wrong diagnosis and so much more. The veterinarian has been caught at work under the influence multiple times. Your pet will not be getting the correct care at this vet. If you really care about them you will not take them to a risky vet that does not really know what they are doing and will most likely misdiagnose them. It’s not a safe place why would you risk your pets life just because it’s local or easier to go to. There is a mobile vet in town that is way better then this place and will take proper care of your pet. They are way better trained and actually care.
