No you have to use a PCM OR TEM cartridge. Are you a home inspector ? Let me know I can get you a great deal.
For the test itself 2 hours is the max you can leave it exposed. After you cover it back up it could be left for as long as you want.
I can't answer that question there could be a lot of reasons for that to happen. Call the 800 number and ask for customer service
