Mom had hip surgery and needed rehab and skilled nursing support. Medicare issues caused a delay in getting to Vi and what an improvement it was! Lovely facility. Friendly staff, excellent nurses (Sharon especially) a great doctor (Sherman) and the food was delicious too. Sadly mom had a crisis while there and everyone jumped in quickly and gave mom amazing care while we transitioned to hospice and moved her home. Thank you all for the compassion, patience and care you shared with mom and her family. You are a top notch team and we appreciate you!

My mom began rehab there back in October and unfortunately this turned into her becoming a permanent resident in skilled nursing. While my life has been a nightmare since my mother fell, the one huge BLESSING has been Vi at Lakeside. The staff is attentive, caring and friendly. I have not had a single issue with anyone. Vi is consistently clean, the food is varied and fantastic and there are always fun activities. My mom is currently in the hospital and my one wish is to get her back to Vi to live out the rest of her days surrounded by people who love her! Highly recommend the Care Center and the fantastic Rehab department. And for the record ... I was not solicited to write this review as I see indicated below!

Beware of reading reviews by residents of independent living. These people want you to move in so their rates don't rise and the amenities don't decline. That is, they want your money. In addition, they are solicited to write reviews. Beware that if you "buy in" you may end up, even against your will, in the atrocious Care Center, where all the fineries promised and to some extent delivered in independent living will be yours no longer. As another resident's relative calls it, you will be warehoused and treated like cargo, and can even be required to pay thousands of dollars a month for private care - or be threatened with a discharge (the relative showed me this was stated under oath by the Care Center administrator.) Are you willing to take that risk? As an insurance professional, I say buy a policy with flexibility to get home care, or change facilities if you want. In any case, nursing homes should be a place of last resort. That 70% or so are "for profit," should be a BIG RED FLAG. I sure wish my relatives had not taken the bait.
