I don't have alot of alterations done, to give many options but My daughters Wedding is a start. They have a lot of business for alterations for proms, weddings, I had a shawl costume made for me and was satisfied with the results, just remembered it can get costly, so weigh your options.
Yes the rent suits/ tuxes for men. They also rent dresses for women..even wedding dresses!. They pretty much have whatever you need all in 1 spot. I rented my tux just 2 weeks ago for my wedding. Price came to approximately $150 plus $20+ deposit. You get that back when you return items not damaged.
