This place has the most amazing California burritos. Like it's mouth watering. It's my late night craving, I come here around midnight and there's always a line and lot of times I wait for 20 minutes but it's so worth it. I don't know if it's the special mayo or the steak that's actually delicious lol or the fries. I think it's the combination of all that that makes it oh so so good. It's only the second place downtown that I found so far that actually has great burritos. Kind of expensive though, 14 bucks with tax.

L. A. CAFE has their electronic pay system set up to force you to pay a tip, even though there is NO TABLE SERVICE. There is no option to decline paying a tip. This is REAL SHADY business practices. There were only 2 customers ahead of me, but it took 30 minutes to cook eggs and bacon. The food was adequate..

February 2022 - Friday night, around 10pm. There were a few people in line. Ordering was quick and the food took about 15 minutes or so. Food/Pricing - Lobster Grilled Cheese was not what I expected. It was a bit too oily and cheesy for me, also tasted slightly burnt. I enjoy cheese and seafood very much but this wasn't a good experience. The Thai Tea though, now that was good!! Service/Ambiance - The service was okay, nothing special. There are a couple of tables outside. I'd come back for the Thai Tea and to try another menu item but would skip the Lobster Grilled Cheese!

Echoing the other replies. Even though there are a couple of wall plugs inside, I can't imagine trying to comfortably set my laptop up in the tiny available space. The rest of the seating is outside so you could work on your laptop there but there aren't any plugs outside. I've got to add- the food is really good and the smoothies and frappes are amazing! So if you're looking for a place to eat, and don't need your laptop, I highly recommend LA Cafe!
You have to tell your social worker you are homeless, then you can spend at many restaurants. Not sure if this one.
High auto traffic anytime, police🚒🚑🚨, buses, constraction-and delivery trucks.. Noiseful.

Hello, thank you for asking. We require proper masks to enter the front door. Cover moth and nose. Please respect social distance and wait outside when there are more than 2 customers inside. Hand sanitizer available at the door. Staff wears masks, faceshields and clean gloves when handling food. Kitchen wears masks and clean gloves all the time. Drivers wear masks and faceshields. We deep clean and sanitize at minimum 3x a day.
