Be patient with the website, for many reasons outside the control of the system, it could take some weeks to get the appointment. Also, a friendly reminder...the marvelous people who work there incessantly to serve you, are doing the best in their abilities to provide the best experience possible. However, is not a mystery that Florida has a high volume of visitors and new residents. The best thing to do is to have the right appointment, bring all documents (originals), and understand the hard work they have to do to assist everyone to be able to enjoy the privilege of driving in the state of Florida. Maybe, while others will strongly disagree with me. For my personal experience, and for others who did the same process, (following those recommendations), we agreed that for us, it was a very smooth, respectful, and enjoyable experience. I don't know the specifics but online it has a list of acceptable forms of primary and secondary identifications. I'm almost positive a SS card counts as primary. But look up exactly what you need because the office is a disaster and the wait is atrocious. Also, make sure you have an appointment or you'll be SOL.
