UPDATE: I MOVED to Weho and Mitsu moved down the block a little bit. Having tried a couple other barbers, she is SIMPLY THE BEST shave and haircut combo I know! ✨️👑✨️ Mitsu is amazing: best shave of my life. Best haircut value in LA; would be worth the trip and it's in my backyard. And this place rocks at Christmas! It's a real pillar of the neighborhood.

So, I went in and explained to the barber that I wanted a fade down to a 1 on the sides and scissor on top. After the cut was done, she shows me the haircut and I politely tell her that I’d like it to blend more…I could see the line between the two trimmer sizes. She immediately gets upset and I try to explain that it’s ok and that I’ll just do a 1 all around. She kept telling me that she gave me what I asked for and that it was right. I disagree again, and the manager comes over. I was asked to pay $10 more to fix the haircut because “it’s a whole new cut” and I couldn’t believe that I would have to pay a surcharge to fix a mistake, something that was definitely not a fade. If that was the best fade she could do, I understand not every barber works the same but that’s not what I asked for. Seemed like a matter of pride, so I decided to leave and fix the cut at another shop. These are the comparison photos below. Nice establishment, but not worth $23 + the tip I left for being a difficult customer. It’s my hair at the end of the day, hard to believe someone would tell me I’m wrong and that “it’s fine”.
