I take all my plastic recycles here. The people are friendly and helpful. I've never had any issues with anyone here, whether it's a customer or an employee.
Ben’s Garage
Not friendly to people coming here for a first time, more contractor oriented. Front desk lady was great but yard workers seem underpaid so they half-a$$. My 500lbs of steel (suspension components, car doors, exhaust) and cast iron (brake rotors) only brought in $16. How?!

I have to give schnitzer steel 5 stars. They give the best prices. We recycle metals from the electrical jobs and retro fits that we do. Gusar Electric, we do electrical from the pole to the desk and everything in between. Look us up. Our guys at schnitzer take care of us big time and the weight master is a real good dude. Trust me you will feel satisfied after dealing with these guys.

Yes, currently a 100 lb. Limit per day due to the fact that reduces bootleging from other states that do not have programs to recycle. Plastic bottles I'm not sure but I'm guessing the same rules apply.
Price of metal went down big time like over $100
Anything with a good amount of metal on it cam be recycled ♻️
Yes they do
Yes they do
Prices fluctuate almost daily so you would have to call their office to find out what the current prices are. If you can cut or break off any steel and or plastic you will get a much better price.
Yes they do take whole vehicles just make sure you have all the oil drained out of all the parts take your tires off and make sure you have the junk title from DMV
Find a tweaker on folsom blvd, buy him some cigarettes to take the steel off for you, and repeat until you have accumulated over 500 lbs of steel and then, yes, they will take and even PAY you for it. Good luck.
Wait till the morning when they reopen...
No they are not
I would not take items like that to this place, unless you have a truckload of it. I'm sure they would take it, but you probably would not get what it's worth. Sorry, I don't really know where you should go with that but Schnitzer is better for recycling heavy steel, a truck load of appliances, cars , old tractors, etc... I took 5 tons of steel in last week, I was paid a measly $300. !!
Prices change daily, best to call their office in the morning to find out what the current price is.
Yes for steel, although the minimum to get paid for steel is 500 lbs. For nonferrous metals they mail a check in a week or three. I got mine in two. They told me it was in an effort to help curb theft and to comply with California law.
