driving through from out of state. pulled over to rest. at a pull off . was too tired to drive after 9 hrs . pulled over at 5am within 10 min was harassed by a Caltrans worker. i guess he is not used to tourists . nor was he aware of what pull offs are used for for travelers. I can see why tourist don't pass through much anymore from what I hear. Cali is anti tourist or it's foreign to them now.

Storms of 2016-17. Numerous road closures due to mud and debris slides. Trying to speak with anyone who has knowledge of closure of SR 193 near Chili Bar. No one seems to know whom to contact to get current road information. Sacramento doesn't know what El; Dorado County is doing and no one at El Dorado County is answering phones or returning calls. Meanwhile, individuals who normally have a 25 minute drive from the community of Swansboro nor are being routed up SR 193 to Kelsey and Garden Valley, through Coloma , then back to Placerville. New route requires almost 2 hours to navigate vs. 25 minutes. No one at Cal Trans is taking the initiative to update or inform the local community and the workers at the work site are rude and abusive when asked questions inclusive of supervisors who openly state their objective is to protect their employees who are being abusive, rather than trying to resolve public questions or concerns. VERY POOR EXPERIENCE !

Questions & Answers

I don't have a question as much as I have a slight problem. I live in Cool on Hwy 49. When I go South toward Coloma and come up to the stop at Coloma there is some bushes that totally obscure the Stop sign until about 150 to 200 feet from the sign.
