The food here was good but the service was remarkably bad, to the point of being upsetting. With some effort, we flagged someone down to order immediately upon sitting down, hungry. It’s byob and we’d brought wine, but the waitress sent us to get cups and find a wine key ourselves, suggesting we ask other patrons. She said NOTHING about the corkage fee. The food took forever to arrive, and at no point when ordering were we given any kind of heads up that the kitchen was running late, nor checked in on or asked if we wanted anything in the meantime (like, water would have been nice? Was impossible to get). We were enjoying ourselves and rolling with it for the first 90 minutes, joking about the delay w patrons near us experiencing the same, but as the place emptied out and it hit the two+ hour mark of waiting for our main dish we started to check on our food. The woman waitress we had was extremely rude about it, alternating between scolding us for not ordering fast enough (which is weird BC we DID) and ordering the wrong things, and complaining about OTHER customers getting mad at her. Patrons next to us had equally weird experiences w her - one pair ordered something on the menu, and when they asked for an update on when it was coming said “oh he’s not going to make that” (talking about the chef). She was rude and dismissive of us throughout. When we asked to speak to a manager at the end, she lied to the manager in front of us about her service to us (ex, saying she warned us the kitchen was an hour behind, which was untrue). Then, the manager offered to take the corkage fee off our bill which no one had even told us about until that moment! They had a real “take it or leave it” attitude about their rude service and it was super unpleasant. Food is good but not that good. Certainly not worth receiving such bad treatment!

This honestly one of the best restaurants ever made. I go here every summer. The food is on another level, comparable to some of the most expensive highly rated places in NYC. It's basically a restaurant in parts unknown.

No but you can host large parties there with advance notice and if your party is large id suggest calling ahead to make sure space is available as it is one of the best restaurants not only in Rockaway but in Queen's!!!
Many items are gluten free. You have to know what to ask for. If it has batter and fried it's not gluten free.
