Great place to explore the historic culture of New Orleans and Louisiana. Have original documents pertaining to The Louisiana Purchase and interesting exhibits on all of the buildings the HNOC owns and maintains

Wonderful Museum and for free!! Way bigger on the inside than I thought on the outside. They have a rotating exhibition space that is wonderful. Every space has a tour guide who will help if need be, and there bathrooms are very very clean and nice! Definitely a stop for tourists or locals alike!

Cafe du Monde is older. It was opened in 1862. Morning call opened 8 years later in 1870.
Coffee was limited but even soldiers had access to coffee and some men in the ranks actually had coffee grinders. Chicory was roasted and ground as an additive when supplies were low. By 1860 France exported millions of pounds of Chicory and it's use increased during the war.
Yes...facing Saint Louis Cathedral, it's the building to the left. It was nearly destroyed by a spectacular fire in 1988 broadcast live morning TV. It was completely restored, but many artifacts and art treasures were destroyed...lost forever. Learn more here... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cabildo
This is not the same museum. Try Audubon
Depends on the guide, and most have set times they do the tours. You have to call and make a reservation for each tour!
