It is what it is. RI is broke and wants our money.

They need to hire more people for the phones. The wait times are unbearably long; 2-3 or more hours just to be hung up on immediately. Most of the time you don't even make it that far, the robot will hang up on you before the hold music even starts, telling you the queue is too long. They close at 3pm which gives you a very small opportunity to call if you get hung up on and have to wait another 3 hours. The combination of the hold music being the SAME repeated jazz song interrupted in intervals by the robot voice literally reading every letter in the URL to go online, borders on actual noise torture. Multiple times I've had to hang up defeated because I couldn't bear to hear it any longer. There is NO alternative option to get ahold of them such as leaving a voice-mail or email. It's ironic, because I was only calling to inform them I was ceasing my benefits due to being hired...which is what the representative who reviewed my work log told me to do...well I have been at my new job over a week now and I literally can't call because my shift is 8am to 4:30...

Absolutely horrible. Never experienced a lack of work ethic. A company didn't pay me for work I performed. I was told they intended to pay me. Mind you the money was owed for 2 weeks when I heard this. No one intends on paying someone 2weeks after your supposed to ofbeen paid already. Speak with the investigator. Once again they intended. He said this should be resolved soon. I called 2 X's to find out the time frame they have to pay. Because now the money is owed for 2 months now. I want a job that I can ignore regular duties like returning a call. You can't take 2minutes out your investigations to return a call and answer a question. Then still get a check. This is why ppl think State employees are Lazy. Thanks for the help with getting my money owed. This is why people get attorneys. Labor attorney search next. Can't believe I have to. However don't expect even minimum effort by them. To me it's called avoidance. So thanks for your help in allowing the company to take advantage of me.Then do the same thing and not do what's right.

Absolutely horrific experience multiple times with their phone system. It's beyond broken and they are beyond understaffed there. I wanted to call once for a quick question, the system immediately hung up on me. I didn't bother calling back. I had to call again because it said my account was marked as fraud. Waited on hold for over an hour. I finally got through and thankfully it was resolved quickly. Just now I had to call again so I waited on hold for over an hour again. The person I talked to was knowledgeable and did help with resolving the issue but then became incredibly condescending when I told her that waiting on hold for an hour is completely unacceptable. She told me that I should be thankful I only have to spend an hour of my time to get my money. She made it sound like I was getting free money for no work and like I have nothing better to do with my time just because I'm unemployed. She was constantly interrupting me and would not let me get one word in. All I wanted to say was "It would be nice if the website had a way that I could request someone to call me rather than wait on hold for an hour." She didn't let me get through the first 3 words before she interrupted me again. And I still have to call them again after all this. Please implement the option to let us request people to call us or an email system at least for quick questions to help ease the phone system. UPDATE: I had to call them back today. I called at the exact moment 7:59 became 8am, with number on speed dial and immediately pressing 1 then 3. I still waited on hold for 24 minutes. So... good luck to everyone else.

I agree, I dont think anybody is working the phones. I made a mistake and cant fix it without knowledge of how. I cant get through to anybody, been trying for 4 weeks, and no call backs.
I retired two weeks ago and the company is refusing to pay my three weeks vacation what can I do
Because this state sucks! Don't even bother calling. Call the governors office. They flag your claim and have unemployment call you.
by doing something that calls for an immediate fire. What did you do?
No temp to cold
I don't know I keep calling the number and it keeps hanging up on me and I live in Florida I never applied for anything in Rhode island and somehow they got my information and I can't even talk to anyone.
When you call you can't get through. When you do they hang up. I requested a call back. A month and a half and no one calls you back .
Yes u can. They also will tell u what u qualify for.
Literally the only way I've gotten anyone to answer is to call right at 8am when they open, and even then its 10-30 minutes of holding. But watch, they'll come along and give you the same "call later in the afternoon" cookie cutter answer they give everyone even though its impossible to get through at any time that isn't 8am on the dot. I wish you luck.
Hey just e-mail them you will have better luck then they phone situation be sure to include you phone number so they can call you directly good luck and God bless 🙌🏾😊🙏🏼
Everyone is having the same problem of not being able to get through on phone calls the system sucks the system is also slow you may have to wait but keep trying to call it makes a lot of sense to keep trying
I dont think so. Pretty much only online or phone. I hope you get through.
You can download your 1009-G here: https://dlt.ri.gov/1099 They will also be mailed to the address we have on file.
I would go see a fortune teller or check the magic 8 ball .the answer is ???
I'm going through the same thing and he's cheating me 33 hours. Did you end up getting it resolved
Whatever your employer tells you as long as they pay
Yes
Yes
On the site, there is a "check claim status" highlight. You will need to sign up an account and must have your confirmation code to check to progress of your claim. I had to fax my information twice. After the second time, I got paid pretty quickly. At least that's how it was for TDI. Good luck
Hi, the UI call center will be able to answer any questions your daughter has about her claim. They are open 6 days a week including Saturday mornings from 8am to 11:30 am. 401-415-6772.
Absolutely nothing..just keep calling and eventually someone will answer then they will fix iy
Please visit office on working days or Call DLT office for an appointment to discuss your case.
Hello, the call center remains very busy. However the are open 6 days a week including Saturdays from 8am to 11:30am. We are unable to assist via google questions. Please follow us on twitter @ri_dlt or visit our website at https://dlt.ri.gov for important information and updates.
I have been getting the same message for literally a month and I'm still trying I applied on February 9th and haven't received any info regarding my claim absolute madness claim was successfully submitted on Feb 9th and am still wait for the claim info
That is because your apparently need to file a new claim. Has to do that last week myself, then I went to certify today for next week and got that message again. Apparently the person I spoke a its didn't do my new claim correctly
Call the unemployment number validate your identity
If you’re on regular UI or an extension and your BYE expires, you need to file a new claim. If you’re not eligible on the new claim, you will be continued on an extension.
I can't reach them either, and I haven't received any payment.
Yes
There a week waiting period dont happen overnight
I cant get through either. They are not allowing public inside. So don't bother going there. I met a very nice lady outside who told me to call the Governors office. Which I did. I left my name and phone # with them and was told I will get a call back within 7 days
Please review the information at https://dlt.ri.gov/fraud and then file a report with the state police.
The building is closed and there is one security guard that will not be able to help you. At best, they will take a note.....but you won't get a call back. There is no one to call, as the number always states they are "helping other callers" and to call back. You can calls the Governor's office, but the voicemail is always full. You can call the Lt. Governor, but they won't call back either. Anyone with an unemployment issue that needs some resolution is left with no help, no support, and nowhere to turn.
Hi Mackenson, yes, we are still processing extensions. You can apply for an extension on the regular application here: https://dltweb.dlt.ri.gov/uipua/
How much overtime. Its a situation, you have to decide if it really required to OT or not. If your employer willing to pay OT then its okay. It's a win win from both sides.
Hey, Jessica! Can we get in touch? It’s about my unemployment.
They are clueless over there. I took my plumbing exam to get masters license in there state. Had to fill in the bubbles on paper. Like I was in 3rd grade again lol I couldn't believe it. I took my exam 15 years ago in CT and I did that on a computer. All the info that was sent to me as far as what building to go to was wrong. Seemed like everyone was clueless so I'm not surprised no one is answering a phone call
The office is open but only for DLT workers everything is done online
No. All of their offices are closed.
It has been difficult to contact them and the only way you can do that is by ending your claim and starting a new one. But I wouldn't recommend that. You can always go to any atm and withdraw the money without fees. I will go to an atm that that are located in stores like the pharmacies or gas stations.
Noope
Don't believe you can go in person Sorry.... Continue trying to call maybe your dialing the wrong number. Call governor's office
Yes you do
Better off going inside to ask that question. Good luck
Please answer
No, but you would have to put in a 1 week waiting period if you haven't for this year.

I dont no
Please help!! Is this Legal???
Sorry, no idea on this one
Not sure but I think you do unless you cant prove you have been looking for work. Of course if you have been abusing the system collecting and working you will be in a mess. Now is the time to get a job everyone is hiring if you stay on unemployment no company will want to hire you.
Not sure, I wanted to try one when I was unemployed but, they cancelled the class during a benefit extension.
8 hours
I have experienced rules that would state if you punch in 3 minutes late or early it will be adjusted to .10 of an hour which equals 6 minutes so punch in at 903 and punch out at 503 you get paid 906 - 5 another case would be you are scheduled 9 - 5 and you punch in at 8 the employer will pay you from 9 unless the early arrival was requested. I believe these corporations have the legal right to do this. If they have proof somebody else punched your card for you then your time can be adjusted and the two employees can be fired and charged with fraud. If they just fix your timecard based on what they feel like paying you that week they would have no right to do that.
It's not the right thing to do, you should make your appointment on a day off
Go into Dept of Labor website and fill out a complaint form for nonpayment.
Yes. Keep in mind it is expensive to on-board new hires so if you're a committed, hardworking employee that delivers on what is expected from you, then you can definitely negotiate for additional paid time off or better yet a $2.00 per hour raise.
