On the whole, a disappointing experience from what I had hoped would become my go-to pub. The whole time I was dining I couldn't shake the feeling that I was in an Irish-themed pub rather than an Irish Pub proper. The menu lacks many of the expected items (notably, our server was baffled when we asked if scotch eggs were available). Obviously in post-pandemic times longer wait times are to be expected, but it was a good 20 minutes after we'd been sat before we were acknowledged by our server and asked for our drink order. Over the hour that we were seated we saw our server at most four times, and had to hunt him down for both refills and the check. Disappointing service for what our waiter himself called a "slow night." The food (once it arrived) was pretty good. The poutine was a standout that I would order again; there's more cheese on that dish than initially meets the eye. The shepherd's pie was unfortunately woefully underseasoned, requiring me to completely uncover the pie filling to season it at the table. Overall I'd come back, maybe, for the poutine. Honestly though, next time I'll order it to-go.

We went from pearl street station here to grab one more beer it was 1:08 am. This bar closes at 2 am, even tho they didn’t allow us to go inside saying that the bar was already closed. This place is just not welcoming!

Not only is the food really good, but it's not that greasy! Normally, when you order poutine, a reuben, or something along those lines, it is covered in grease, you have to wipe your hands between each bite, and you feel so bad eating it. While I haven't sampled everything, the food I did have was delicious without too much grease, and I didn't feel gross afterward. My only issue was that the service was a bit slow. However, there was only one waiter working that evening (while also working as host), and she was clearly working hard while still being friendly, so I don't fault her in the sightest; it is probably just a worker shortage thing.
