Lovely cottage, and very clean! Small kitchenette is very helpful, nice place to sit outside either on the patio or out by the fire ring overlooking the water. Great opportunity to birdwatch! Also the beds are very comfortable. We've already booked next year's stay and are happy to return. Constructive criticisms would be to have a grill for each unit rather than three shared grills for six duplex units, and to fix the ceiling light/fan so you can turn the light off and keep the fan running at night. But all in all a great place to stay! Watch out for the trash pandas. 😅

Love this place. The wife and I go every year at least once. Very clean, staff is attentive and professional and the cabins all have great views. Equipped with everything two people need including coffee and TV, fireplace, fire pit, silverware, central heat and cooling... The list goes on. Spending our honeymoon there this year! The rest of our time is spent camping in the Hazlett camping areas which is also very nice and well kept but that's a different review.

Check in was easy, and the attendants were all very nice and friendly. The store had no souvenirs I could buy and the wood we bought was hard to burn. The small laundromat was clean and affordable, but the washing products were overpriced. The cottage was clean so their cleaning staff do a good job. The only thing that was really, really bad were the bugs so take 2cans of bug spray and keep the porch light off. The cottage pictures you see gives the impression one can fish right off the back yard and that's not so. There is a drop off and weed growth that hampers that in cabin 12. The other cabins have big rocks along the bank cleft. People fishing in boats would come an fish off our banks loudly talking breaking our peaceful silents morning and late afternoon. I think the park workers should mow and spray around these cottages. Really disappointed we couldn't fish by our cottages. If you like deers and bugs this is the place for you.

The rates can change depending on your check in/check out day. But for example, if you check in on a Saturday and check out on a Saturday, the total would be $780.01. You can rent 1 day, but there is a $30 up charge. We allow 2 night stays as long as it is not during a holiday.

The cottages come equipped with a kitchenette that has a dorm fridge, stove, sink and a microwave. Pots, pans, dishes, and silverware are provided. The living room has hardwood floors, an oversized loveseat, an oversized padded chair, and a TV with DirectTV and a DVD player. They have a private bedroom with a queen sized bed and upstairs in the loft they each have 2 twin sized beds. Linens are provided. They all have a full bathroom. Toilet paper and towels are provided. The back porch has a deck with chairs. They also have fire pits, a charcoal grill, and a picnic table. They are open year round and have AC/heating. Most of the cottages have a gas fireplace in the living room, the exceptions being the duplexes along the lakefront (1&2, 6&7, and 10&11) which have adjoining doors instead.

Here you say you are pet friendly then I saw on a different site that there are no pets allowed. Could you please clarify this for me?

Pets are not allowed to stay at the Hazlet Cottages. Pets are allowed within Eldon Hazlet State Park and can stay in the Illini Campground. Our cottages are within the park but are not part of the campground and have a different policy.
