I know this review probably won't matter since it's a government office... but they are impossible to get ahold of. I got married almost 8 months ago and have been trying to change my last name. Up until a few months ago the automated phone line just said closed due to covid (still???)... Now they do accept appointments but they won't answer the phone. I actually did get a person a while back after being on hold for about an hour but she was very rude and mad that I actually had questions instead of just going online. I do not want to mail in my documents, I want to do it in person and no one will answer my questions or help. I am trying to schedule an appointment like they want us to but can't. I can't be on the phone daily for hours waiting.

They never answer the phone it’s very irritating

Hubby went today, Thursday, 5/12/2022. He was there when the doors opened at 9am. Says he waited 10 minutes before his number was called. Whole process took 30 minutes, not the nightmare we expected, haha. Good job SS office!👏👏

Usually six months in advance
I need a SS card or a copy of one. My bank acct was compromised. Wiped out. I c as n't felt money to day unless I have something with my social security #
You have to keep calling because of this pandemic people are calling all day so keep trying
call and set appt to speak to a person about SSA benifits.
As long as you're working in a job that's covered by Social Security, as are most jobs, you'll have to keep paying Social Security and Medicare taxes indefinitely, regardless of your age or benefit status.
Give them a call or look on their website.
Now
You have to go to social services for Medicaid but if you have a disability they'll put you on Medicare but they only handle medicare at the social security office as far as i know.
Nah you can go in and wait like everybody else. You gotta wait on line to let 'em know you have an appointment anyway.
If you had two cars before you got SSI, than the answer is yes.. My wife, before she passed, and I have two cars and it's fine.. As long as you use the money for the kids..
That's a scam don't be gullible.
They know no body will bother complaining
Your birth certification
Yes
You will have to provide the death certificate and anything that says that you have custody of him. Take the information to the Social Security Office and explain what happened and let them make copies of the documents you can provide
You should be able to continue to work but you will have a limit of how much you can work without losing any of your Social Security money. The Social Security Office will be able to tell you what your situation with work and full benefits will be
You will need to make an appointment and bring 2 forms of ID with you to the appointment
I don't think so but if I were you I would call Social Security and ask them
I would suggest that you call the local office 1st. If you don't get a good answer then call the 800 number and ask them. I hope you can find the answer that you are looking for
I really don't know. I had to wait a year for mine but I will say a prayer for you to get your disability very soon
I am in the office now
I was going to try to get the local number for you but all I was able to find was the 800 number. If you can find a local number you can use it to call for an appointment. If you can not find a local number you can still call the 800 number and tell them what you need and they should be able to either make you an appointment or give you information that you need to make an appointment for yourself. I hope this helps
I think so but you should give them a call to find out what things you should bring in order to provide the information about the death
2 forms of ID. One has to be a picture ID. Drivers license or state issued ID card. If you use a bill that is in your name and address you might want to take 2 bills plus the photo Id. If you are not sure call and ask them what you can use
You don't have to have an appointment for this office. When you get there you must sign in and state why you need help so that you can eventually be seen by the person that can be the most help to you
