The process started out as normal. My daughter and I attended their orientation we got the needed info, and everything was good to go. Her recruiter in the beginning seemed to be onboard with helping us get things underway with the application process. It wasn't until I was unable to get her SS replacement card because the local SS office seems to be ignoring requests such as mine? As their still working remotely? And thus has miraculously misplaced my daughter’s replacement SS card application? Grant it, I'm not faulting AMYA totally on placing my child on a standby list neccessarily. What I'm Tee'd off about is after explaining the SS replacement card BS the recruiter was discouraging...saying my child wouldn't be placed in the program right away anyhow due to the cadets from the last recruitment period having to leave early due to COVID-19. Okay I get that, but he ignored my messages by phone & email about my daughter’s application status. He didn't even tell me my child was placed on a standby list until I so happened to call the other recruiter person. He informed me then that she was on a standby list which was news to me. He gave me their boss's info. Never heard from her until I contacted the director of the program. She called me & apologized, and said that they don't conduct business that way. And a discussion about the recruitment process would be reinforced. The director apologized saying similar. It helps & it doesn't help. The application process was extensive enough, especially the mentorship packet. What a big waste of time! And lack of communication from that recruiter. He could of explained my situation as a last resort. If nothing, 'Fine Okay' at atleast he tried on our behalf. But instead just wrote us off & decided to disregard her application altogether. Or so it seems.?

Once in a lifetime experience that 100% guides & helps form young teenage boys into being great, hard working, intelligent men. My man and nephew attend/ed this school, probably one of the best things to happen to them, so far in life. I highly recommend this experience to anyone whom meets the criteria to attend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It really takes me back when I remember how much the Team Leaders were there for us. This really is one of the greatest places a young man or woman could go. There’s really a lot to take it to understanding respect, maturity, dedication and, integrity. Class of 2017-1

Yes, weight does not disqualify you from the program.
Male candidates will have to shave their heads.
E-3 private first class in the army.
Yes, usually do if there are no stamps giving to the cadet.
.... like the old PT?
I don't think so
There's a conditional acceptance letter that has a list of what you can and can't bring.
No, you must be at least 16 on the day you begin (and not have turned 18 yet), although you may sign up before you turn 16.
Our current cycle just started, next one starts in July. Reach out to our recruiters at our Muldoon office!
Yes
Thats the plan. We're still waiting on the official word from the governor and health depatment but we are confident our next class will begin in july
It just takes longer however they do have supplies for those whom need it. If you at lease have decent shoes you will survive untill they find your sizes
Yes it depends on your last name. Call them to find or when you should show up
At the interview building
Not a lot... Only perseverance, sweat, maybe some tears, and a little bit of time.
You can get your GED and possibly diploma from AMYA so you don't necessarily have to go back to public school but I think you have to wait till you are 18 to join the military. You would want to ask a recruiter to find out for sure though
There are tons of pictures on the Facebook page!
The program consist of 5.5 months of Residential phase.
16 years according to their website.
Not within 6 months of last consumption
Yes you actually get your head shaved first day there. It grows back quick.
It's strictly a volunteer program for 16-18 year olds. Many parents and guardians suggest AMYA to their kids as an alternative to Northstar. It's a volunteer program because wanting to be there and change your life for the better is extremely important and vital to being successful. I can speak as a former cadet, former mentor and Team Leader that AMYA is effective for those who are willing to put in the work. Go to the Academy website to learn more about if AMYA is going to be the right place for you.
The program can't accept them until they are sixteen years old (on the first day of the program). Once they are sixteen, they are eligible.
That is a good question. But i dont know
Cadets last name, first name, platoon number AMYA P.O. Box 5727 JBER, Alaska 99505-0727 If you don’t know the platoon number Facebook message AMYA and ask for that cadets platoon There is also pictures posted weekly on the AMYA Facebook page if you miss your cadet and want to see them.
You have to apply for a specific cycle. 2018-2 is about to start, you need to apply for 2019 if you are 15 right now and the applications for that cycle haven't started yet. My advise is for you to go and talk to one of the recruiters at the muldoon center and just figure out what paperwork they need for you to join, so when is time to apply you have all your paperwork ready to go.
