We spend most holidays here, cooking out and enjoying the woods. It's clean, well maintained, and a totally underutilized resource. The area is walkable and shaded, there are plenty of picnic tables and grills, a large shelter that is rarely occupied, and bear safe trash receptacles.

Heck of a view with plenty of hiking space! Ideal overlook for an outdoor enthusiast. Be weary if you're afraid of heights and want to walk near the overlook as the trails are thin there.

Beautiful this time of year. Go during week. No crowds. Ample picnic tables available then. Nice short loop trail.

No, the park is first come basis. There is one shelter, and many picnic tables scattered about a loop with parking near by each area.
I was just there at the gate. Parkway was open. We're getting a lot of water around here, but there's nothing up there. Maybe a tree came down..
There is one large picnic shelter at the back of the park, but the rest of the sites are uncovered. They do also have covered bathrooms.
I don't think I can help, wish I could. Call the rangers they'll let you know.
