first, products were not the reason I am giving this location one star. Selection was ok. Store was average. It’s the employees. I visit this location on Saturday, Sept 3rd around 7:30pm. A heavier set employee with dark short hair and a blonde girl. (Both young girls) EXTREMELY inconsiderate. Having a very loud conversation about a child with disabilities. Not in a positive, knowledgeable way. DEFINITELY not a conversation appropriate for work and just all around rude to say in public not knowing who you are around. Let me share my experience. this is to the two ladies I had the very pleasure of running into at the dollar store. (actually 2 of their lovely employees) So today, as I am cashing out at the dollar store, these two women were loudly having a conversation about how children with disabilities should have parents that should “train them” to behave better and to not touch things, and not allow them to put things in their mouths at the store without intent to buy it. she continued to say how it was completely the parents problem for “allowing it” and the child should be screamed at while in said store. This is where I snapped. first off, I am so sorry to hear you have an autistic sister. such a shame to hear you speak about a child with disabilities when you have a sibling of your OWN that has a disability. shouldn’t you be more aware of the fact that it is genuinely not an easy thing to raise/ look after a child on the spectrum? I would feel you would be more compassionate for child that cannot help but touch, cry, have a meltdowns throughout the store being that you see what they go through firsthand. That’s also called being a CHILD. I’m so happy you shut up after I totally called you out on your lack of common compassion for anothers. you have NO idea what it’s like to raise a child with ASD and I really hope you never do have to experience that. ACTUALLY I DO! because my son is on the spectrum and he is just the best little boy ever. He is so smart, he shows kindness (something you clearly lack) he’s so sweet to his friends and there is not a single mean bone in his body. He loves hard, and gives the best biggest hugs that you would melt over and he has many people who love and care about his feelings, and that would kill for him. Encounters like this are the reasons I am so scared for my children to live and grow in a cruel world like this. common compassion for others, learn it! DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!

What you would expect. I have no complaints. Back to school was better stocked than I expected.

I have been an avid shopper at Dollar Tree since my husband and I left New York a year ago to reside in Spring Hill, Florida. You can say I practically “live” at the store as I frequent it so much ;-). Every time I walk in for one thing, I walk out with bags full of goodies. I have noticed Florida is full of Dollar Trees but I only shop at store # 5196. It is always clean, organized, and fully stocked. I am taking the time to write to Corporate today about Heather, the store’s Manager. Heather is truly the full package: intelligent, hard-working, and personable, understanding the importance of maintaining a high level of professionalism when interacting with staff and customers. She knows her store! She organizes merchandise to perfection. Whenever I walk down an aisle, I notice Heather’s touch. This woman deserves to be recognized and commended for her hard work and dedication and is definitely deserving of a raise upon her next review. Needless to say, what accompanies an excellent manager is a superb staff. What a topnotch team at Heather’s store: Kudos to Christina, Amanda, Angel, Scott, Andi, and Sue. Corporate: Please bestow my gratitude to Heather and her team.
