Good camping, but no water nearby. Easy walk from Rockville. Don't let the signs scare you off, just follow the dirt road. Google Maps Navigation will lead you here.

Stayed for camping. ignore the private signs along driving up, home owners want to scare you off. There are No Camping signs around certain sections like the bathroom. But go further through the loop and there are some turn off points to camp. Bathroom and trail decent. It is a very rough road and longer than you would expect. 4WD high clearance a must

Aside from some extreme ruts in the last leg of the dirt road to get there, this was the best hike so far on my visit. Most of the trail winds through pinon & juniper trees, and the entire area is covered in desert plants - like a beautiful, expansive garden. The views out are worthy of pause, really picturesque. This was one of the very few trails without highway noise in my experience. None! It was very quiet. I highly recommend, just make sure you drive there in a vehicle with clearance.

VERY rough drive out, and a LOT of gnats and ants, but decently good spot to camp and hike. (Assuming the "no camping" signs were just for the parking lot area.) You also have to go through private land to reach it, but it opens back up to public land. It has great cell-service too!

Depending on how far you go and hiking speed, 2.5 to 4 hours. A good round trip distance is about 5 miles unless you are aggressive and skilled and want to get to the top.
