Went to get a necklace appraised and the guy lied and said it was 14k but it was 18k when I called back to call him out on his dishonesty he played dumb..sketchy business ran by crooks.

Very very friendly. My only problem (which is not really a problem) but issue is that they pay in a check instead of cash, no big deal, just extra time having to go to the bank to cash, once again not that big of a deal (bank less than 5 min away in stop and shop - Peoples United- which does stay open late most nights) other than that, Good Ole Tom's are my kind of people... Would recommend over and over again

I had some gold jewelry and sold to Good Ole Toms and got a really great price I was surprised. So I found some more at home and decided to check out another very popular pawn store, they offered me a good amount but then I asked what’s the cost of gold today? The guy didn’t even know! He looked it up and it went up from prior day but he didn’t offer a new price so I went back to Good Ole Toms and they offered $40 more. If I didn’t ask that guy the price for that day I would have just thought it was a good deal and took it but I knew I wasn’t getting the best deal. Megan and the other lady that work in East Hartford are so friendly and really go over each piece so you know what you’re selling and getting. I will definitely go back, it was a great experience.

The staff was very friendly. However, I sold two of my diamond rings. I paid over $1500 for both. I got $85. They don’t pay anywhere near what the tv commercials say. Not worth it if you have expensive pieces
