You will have to create a new deed and transfer the property from you to you and your wife. It isn't difficult but you should have an attorney do it to make sure it is done correctly.
You can but I wouldn't recommend it because there are rules and recording standards that must be followed.

A new deed needs to be created from you granting ownership to the 3 of you. Speak to a lawyer because HOW title is held will greatly affect how it is passed on if one of you dies.
It is a filing office that keeps all the information about the land that someone owns. Ownership is acquired through a deed and that deed need to be recorded. The record of ownership is maintained at the Registry of Deeds. In Masschusetts depending on what county the city/town is in where your land is located, will dictate where it is to be recorded.
You have to have a new deed created from you to you and the other person.... best to talk to an attorney because there are different ways of holding title that would be important if one of the parties die. The deed will then need to be recorded at the Registry for $125.00. If the is a $ amount for the sale of your half interest, you will have to also pay an excise tax.
The Registry of Deeds is strictly a recording office, they do not give out legal advise. I highly recommend you seek the advise of an attorney as this could require a court judgment to be recorded as opposed to just an affidavit. Good luck.
