Lack of compassion and understanding. Poor customer service. Sarcasm. The staff at the front desk aren’t qualified to do their job if they can’t nicely speak to patients with cancer and other serious complications. Also, they’re clueless blondes with no idea how to read a chart or check you in for an appointment. My doctor is good so I’ll give another star. Really 1.5 rating.

The entire team at Mass Eye and Ear, including the talented and caring nurses and the brilliant doctors, met and exceeded my high expectations for this hospital. I was there for day surgery and from admission to discharge, I was so well cared for throughout the process. All of you health care providers are working so hard and I cannot thank you enough.

Overall experience at the hospital with doctor & nurse team was great but the billing team could do better. They’re trying to bill me twice even I tried my best to pay in a timely manner on 6/2 already. Gateway app is a great tool to check your medical record, but the client service section did not work as it promised on its app (respond in 48 business hours - NO). With a long wait line on call I could finally have a call with one of the representatives, and she was definitely not helpful at all. Expect they will not check your proofs of payment, receipt, and any other proofs you uploaded with 3 total items limit on the app.

I have not yet seen a doctor so my rating is strictly based on current 2022 scheduling/front desk office staff. I have been calling them repeatedly for over a month regarding an urgent medical situation after numerous referrals. I am simply trying to make an appointment and cannot. First I am on the phone with registration confirming the same 20 questions over and over (name, date of birth, race, gender, address, insurance, phone number, etc.) before I am granted access to a scheduler. This happens every single time you call the office no matter what for. The schedulers then immediately put me on hold and disconnect the call. Call back? Get the registration process again, transfer the call, hold and hang up. This happens every single time. It’s day 30, countless referrals, countless phone calls and still can’t even make the appointment.

What happens if your appointment runs past the time that Valet parking is open and you used them to park?

That depends on what you need ear doctor for. There are many different specialties. This hospital is ranked number one in our region though, so no matter who you have for a doctor here, you can be assured they are good at what they do.

I do not think the main entrance has a canopy before the door to protect you from rainy weather if that's what you mean
If you are going to have the surgery there is no better place, I am leaking and it takes time to heal

I never use valet. I park in the Storrow Drive lot which is quick and easy and a 1 minute walk to the front door.
They deal with EVERYTHING from the neck up. Everything!!!! You're in one of THE best hospitsls in the world!! Their doctors train doctors AND hospitals around the world!
I recommend the valet service. The parking lot is not easy to get to. It's a left exit on Storrow Dr into the lot sandwitched by busy roads. I use the valet.
They list by doctor name and department your looking for also information desk as soon as you walk in the door friendly people

I usually stay at the Sheraton at Pru Center because it's cheap and perfectly fine. Usually pay about $125 using priceline express deals. 5 minute cab ride.
