Exotic gets one star because the owner chose to lie instead of simply telling the truth. The orchids I received as a bereavement gift were growing from two separate ”root beds” for lack of a better term; one healthy root and one clearly dying & rotting. When I brought the orchid in to explain, I was told “there’s nothing wrong with the plant… it’s just very dry… they are like people; some robust and some small… leave the roots alone (though CLEARLY dried out with other roots still rotting and incapable of providing water to the plant), repot them in the tight container in which it came, and simply add one cup of water per week.” Meanwhile, the leaves and the flowers are steadily browning (he pulled off the browning leaf at the store) & dying, yet “there’s nothing wrong with the plant”. 👀 Like many things these days, I opted to simply Google the problem myself to fix it. Dying roots should NEVER be ignored… Won’t be coming back here; it was very easy to just say, “sorry we just sell the flowers, we don’t give honest feedback on proper care.” From the looks of it, the plant could have been sold in this condition, but without seeing the roots at the time of purchase, one couldn’t tell. Had I purchased it myself I would have made a bigger issue of it, but it was a gift and they were close to closing. What can I say? 🤷🏾‍♀️

I used Exotic Flowers for the first time to send to my aunts funeral services. After looking at least 6 different places this place had the best selection and the best prices so I gave it a try. I saw the flowers tonight all set up in the funeral parlor and they were gorgeous!! We got the deluxe and they were a very good size! I will use them for future orders, was very happy.

For years now we have been ordering are flowers from Exotic Flowers, wouldn't have it any other way. Whatever the occasion, weddings or wakes the flowers are perfectly arranged and seem to last forever. P.S. Some of their delivery vehicles are Hummers and Mercedes. It's always a win-win, nice people, nice automobiles and of course nice flowers! Bill Daly..

I placed an order for a sympathy arrangement(Dish Plants) for a family member in other state. Arrangement rec'd was nothing like that which I ordered. When I called to complain, the CSR I spoke with was immediately Angry, nasty, and blocking any communication I had to voice. She blamed me for the wrong item, and stated that I specified Bright Pink when I spoke to someone. I never spoke to anyone as my order was placed online. She "fluffed" me off repeatedly stating the arrangement was what I ordered. She gave me a bogus reference order# which no one could reference!!! This person was totally rude, obstreperous, and dismissive! No customer needs to be treated in that manner, Whomever she was, she should not have any communications with customers. She also gave me a bogus reference #..... As consumer, we have many options with which to make purchases-mine will never be "Exotic Flowers" of Boston, MA. This is your caveat to avoid being belittled and made to feel stupid. You have been duly informed. P.S.: If there were an option for giving this outfit NO STARS, that would have been my preferred choice. As I live and work in Boston- I'll spread the "word" about the poor treatment I received !
