Clothed and Confident

Don't buy meat. Buddy got food poisoning. 3/4 of the stuff is expired. Grocery Outlet on route 30 is where it is at. It might be legal to sell stuff past it's expiration date but this place pushes it to the limit. They had some funky looking meats and seafood. Canned goods and dry items should be fine though. As we stated in our original reply the “sell by” date is not an “expiration date”. As you have made no attempt to provide any evidence that you made a purchase from our store, we are left to assume this is a fraudulent review and are reporting it as such. Original Reply: Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We want you to feel comfortable sharing good or bad news with us. I'm so sorry that your experience with us fell short of expectations. I also want to thank you for giving us a chance to make things right. While most of our product is the same as you would find in a regular grocery store, we do sell a few items that are passed their peak freshness date. This is legal and these foods are still very wholesome and safe. Here is a quote for the Food Marketing Institute and USDA “There’s nothing magical about a sell-by date. They’re a guide just for peak quality. So the purpose of the date is to help the consumer know that this product is intended to be sold during a certain time period. They can be sold legally, according to USDA’s laws, after the sell by date.” Jill Hollingsworth – FMI – NBC Dateline Interview Our team at Treasures owned and operated a 15 store chain, Amelia’s Grocery Outlets, for over 25 years and we are very familiar with product safety and product dating. Many customers seek out post-dated items because they know the food is fine and they can save 80-90% on the cost of these products. Products that are not stored at proper temperatures are the main cause of foodborne illness. We have brand new refrigeration equipment with temperature alarms to ensure that our products are always stored at safe temperatures. Please contact the store manager Brian Sosa at (717) 826-9165 if you would like to elaborate on your experience with more details so we have a better understanding of the situation.

I first heard about Treasures Market from a WGAL newsreel via YouTube. It sounded like a place worth checking out. I visited Treasures to find a wonderful deal on most items. I would even see unbelievable clearance sales once in awhile. I especially like the regular prices and sales they have on coffee.
