I have visited this church on a few occasions solely due to timing conflicts with my home church. Although I enjoy the priest and his message, my experience was less than enjoyable. Not to disparage all of their members, I did not find the church in general to be that inviting or inclusive. Nor did I find the church to be that accommodating of visitors in wheelchairs or with walkers. I brought visitors with both. If there was a special section for such visitors, then the ushers failed to notify me on each occasions.

I was married in this church in December of 2021 and it was a memorable experience for all of the wrong reasons. I had been in communication with this church since January of 2021 and they were fully aware I was bringing my own priest because this was a destination wedding for us and I even paid $1200 to lock-in my date in February of 2021 for my December wedding. Well come the evening of my wedding rehearsal no one shows up. No music person. No head priest to say what we can and can’t do. I had to frantically run to the office or side building to find anyone who could help me. They apparently didn’t know although they sent a letter to my priest with approval we could be married in St.Stephen’s, they received the appropriate paperwork, and the date was secured. Additionally, I had absolutely no clue there was even a wedding coordinator until my actual wedding day after the ceremony. Turned out I had been talking to an assistant. I am so grateful I brought my own priest, he truly saved the day. To make matters worse I was told my wedding could only be at 1:00pm on a Saturday which was fine….but unbeknownst to me or anyone else in my wedding for that matter they had confession booked for 2:00 and had the audacity to tell my extended family to leave when we were trying to take pictures and they kicked out my flower girl and ring bearers because they were “making too much noise for confession.” I’m sorry, but maybe plan better and move confession to another time? This left a bad taste in my mouth and further pushed the idea on me that the Catholic Church is just money hungry. It’s a shame. I’ve been holding this in for 2 months and hope that if someone who works here reads this they work hard to improve the experience for future brides and grooms.

Beautiful church, welcoming parishioners and wonderful priests. I love St. Stephen and enjoy going to the 5:30pm mass Sundays regularly.

The chapel is usually open, especially during office hours.
No Mass in Spanish, sorry. Nearby Nativity Church in Brandon has a Spanish Mass.
Usually Reconciliation is on Tuesdays and Saturdays. But due to the Easter Tridium, and the Lenten Penance Service that was held recently with over a dozen priests hearing confessions, there is no Reconciliation on Holy Saturday.
Is that correct, When is there Spanish masses?
They used to have a teen choir, but ever since Covid, they only have one guy who plays the guitar & leads the singing. He's at the 5:30 Sunday Mass. Come join us!
Unknown This is not my parish
