I have called Cornell Cooperative Extension many times over the years. Asking questions about plants, stink bug infestation which, thank goodness, has decreased dramatically in our area, and bats in my neighbors house every first week of august for 4 or five years, actually got great info from the Bat Dept at Cornell. My latest inquery will be to find out when and how to remove a larger than basketball sized wasp nest from my 6 ft by 6 ft tall azalea bush by my front door. I want to preserve it, if possible to hang in my newly renovated basement bar area. I'm sure I will get the best advice from CCE and as a I am NOT allergic to the sting, should be able to accomplish what I want over the coming winter. I always think of calling CCE first and they are always helpful and patient with my crazy questions.

Questions & Answers

Can you identify the type of weed I have in my lawn that has overtaken the yard and suggest a remedy if i bring you a sample? I have tried several products with no success. Also do you also do soil analysis? Thank you.

Yes. Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1:15 to 3:15 pm are the times to come to the office if you want to speak to the horticulture staff in person. Other times of the week you may drop off a sample and pick up a soil test kit.

I have a dogwood tree that bloomed but now the leaves are shriveling up.... I am concerned that it has a bug infestation or blight.....
