The bathrooms weren't the best but the kids really enjoyed the playground. I like it because there isn't tons of people to fight for them to play and you have a specialty set for the handicapped 👍👍👍👏🙏

Yes, there are hiking trails there also.

Do you need to reserve the shelter for a picnic? If so, who do I need to call?

You do have to reserve, although many just go and use a shelter anyways. I'm pretty sure you have to call 276-322-4626, which is the park number.
