Great place to take the family on a well maintained boardwalk. Our family enjoyed seeing turtles, birds and abundant wildlife. There are several areas to stop and look at the beautiful lake. There are abundant fishing locations along the boardwalk so bring your poles.

Went with my case worker and a few other clients. We ate pizza and snacks and drinks. We then took a walk down the parks many boarded walkways. Nice and peaceful time. Afterwards, we sat in the picnic tables and enjoyed the cool breeze. I saw a squirrel and we heard many birds, singing their own special tunes. I think this park would be a good place for an picnic or something fun to do ! π.. Hopefully you can take a look at it. I know you will be back π€

Nice park with a boardwalk trail and a playground. Perfect for getting out for a little while and even taking a picnic lunch.

Peaceful place with plenty of sitting areas, shaded benches, gazebos and designated fishing plus enjoyable boardwalk/ trails. For years it had been impossible to visit due to being closed every time we were in the area. Today was our lucky day. Open from Thursday to Sunday. Swings for kids and grills are also plentiful. Will be back on a Thursday definitely- for some relaxation for me and fishing for my hubby. A piece of heaven in Altamonte.

Duke Engery co-owns / operates the park and uses it as a science incubator Monday - Wednesday (as of 2017 - 2018) public access has varied in the past and hopefully will increase the future. :)
The park is open to the public Thursday-Sunday. It is used for field trips through Seminole County Public Schools Monday-Wednesday, and is closed to the rest of the public.
Not as of Thursday, 10/25/17. Sign says, "Closed Until Further Notice." So does the website.
Call the office at (407) 293-8885 for more information.
$26 for half a day, $55 for a full day. Otherwise they're first come first serve.
Yes
No swimming area. Plenty of alligators.
Good question .. I think it's closed Weds also. Perhaps for maintenance &/or they assume, think, or have assessed there just aren't enough visitors to warrant having staff on those days. Unfortunately, it for too often comes down to numbers.
It is free and open to the general public.
Yes
No! It have a nice pier to take a walk and a park into the woods.
There are 12 large picnic tables under both pavilion 1 and pavilion 2 You can make reservations through the Altamonte recreation website: http://www.altamonte.org/355/Recreation
Off-Site parking is used on Saturday and Sunday. Altamonte Springs has a tram service that brings you from the parking lot in and out of the park. Off-Site parking address: 8903 Magnolia Homes Rd. Orlando, FL 32810
Call (407) 293-8885 for the latest open times and other information.
The park always closes at 5pm on non-daylight savings days. Its closed to those still in the park at 5:30pm, as those already in the park are given time to pack up what they're doing. This is because there are no artifical lights in lake lotus, and with wild animals its only safest to close around 5pm so park patrons can safely get home in daylight.
Interesting indeed.
I believe it runs for the whole time the park is open, and you just wait at the parking lot for the tram.
They have very limited parking within the park and Main parking is across the street. There is a shuttle or you can walk in from the parking lot. Also they are not open every day. Check their website for that info.
Fishing is allowed. Not sure about catch and release.
I can't say what fish are there but there's definitely alligators. Probably bass and brim and catfish
Free, yes. They will check for license.
No, not really. Wooden board walk paths too uneven.
It is open, but much of the boardwalk is still inaccessible.
Or you can walk under Maitland Blvd. They have a tunnel
