One of the best hiking trails in central Florida. There are a some better hikes but the are so popular and overcrowded and parking is difficult. Not here, unless you go on a holiday. The front part can be too muddy during the wet season, but surprisingly last week it was perfect. Lots of water to view, alligators, little bridges, totally shaded and just a great 1 hour hike to the big bridge and a hour back.

Awesome ltrees and gators! I came with a small group and we didn't do the loop. We went down the trail nearest the water to a little peninsula and came back. It was under 4 miles total. There are some really lovely trees along the way. We also saw about 5 gators with a couple being quite large. Though the trail is clearly well traveled, it never felt busy. Leashed dogs are allowed. Be careful as there were some places where dog owners did not clean up.

This is one of the most beautiful places in all of Central Florida! I had a great 3 hour hike with my son. I saw one gator. The trail is well maintained. I used a trail app which was very helpful in not getting lost!
