If the waiting list is open, you can apply for a section 8 voucher. The size of the voucher you'll get will be 1 bedroom per 2 people. You may use this to rent a larger size apartment or home, but your out of pocket cost will be higher. Housing authority can deny a home of they believe it's too expensive... there's a formula they use to determine this. Your first step... Find out if the waiting list is open, and if it is...apply. If the waiting list is closed, you can always check with other housing authorities. First year with voucher you must reside in the same county that issues you the section 8 voucher.

You have to do it online and then they'll ask you for documents and then after you fo everything they say, you wait. Once mine was done I didn't wait too long, but I was also in a shelter so that bumped me up I believe, but I can say we've been so happy! Good luck to you

Where I Have Been Living For 5 Years , Because They Think Were Traylor Trash , I Was Put On Social Secretary Disability Because I Was Injured On The Job Detroit Michigan Truck Plant Then Section 8 , But You Really Should Think About It You Come All The Way Over Here And Then You Can't Find A Place , Dayton Beach Florida Isn't What People.Think It Is , Most People Come Down For Bike Week , There Isn't Much Spring Breakers Anymore , And Then They Go Home And Let's Not.Forget The Daytona 500 Races But They Go Home , They Have No Idea How It Is to Live Here !!! I went down there when I couldn't get through. They were not open on Monday. You shouldn't have any problems calling them now. I've recently called and I've been able to talk to them. They are making a lot of changes. I suggest if It's important and you can't get through then go over there. Hope that helps answer your question.
