I always find a wonderful selection. Somehow I always find exactly what I am looking for. I even found bathing suits for my grandkids and they were better quality than I had bought from Amazon. Having grown up in a home where my mother couldn't afford to cloth us or leave my physically and mentally abusive father. Thank God for the volunteers and the charity they provide for abused women and children. When my grandkids are older and I want a place to volunteer, this would be it. The volunteers here are a joy. Thank you all

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have a been a long time donor and shopper at Second Act for years. I even donated fresh produce and meats every Thursday for about 6 months last year for the women and children at their shelter because I was in a good financial place and wanted to contribute to my community. I lost my job in July of this year and have been in a really rough financial place since then. I went into Second Act today looking for some Christmas decor since I can't afford shopping at regular retail stores right now. I just wanted Christmas to feel normal this year for my family, even though we are going without. While I was at Second Act, I was shocked by the raise in prices. I saw many broken, dirty items that were labeled for close to the cost of brand new ones. A nativity scene set with missing people and large broken pieces was $15. Sure, someone could make some repairs to it at home, but why would they want to for that price? For $15, they could buy a new one at Walmart. No kidding, they have a set for exactly $14.98. One can quickly look it up online. Anyways, I found a medium size serving plate for $10. Again, grossly overpriced, but I figured it was worth going up to the counter and talking to the woman there. The reaction I received was something unexpected. A small older woman with short hair was there and when I kindly and very graciously asked her if she would reconsider the price, she brazenly asked me why. Anyone who has ever met me would attest to my kind and warm demeanor in all situations, and the attitude and coldness I received from her was undeserved. To her response, I humbled myself and explained that I was in a rough financial spot and simply don't have the money for it (I also had other items I was purchasing for the full price requested). She begrudgingly said that it was a good price and that she wouldn't lower it. I explained that so many items in the store are very over priced for the clientele in the community, to which she proceeded to interrupt me and tell me that no one had complained about prices and I was the first one. I told her that simply wasn't true as I had a conversation with a lady earlier about the furniture area about how expensive things were. I also reminded her that all of these items are donated. She responded by telling me that they need to keep the business running. I think that any company that has to build their success on the backs of their donors/customers to stay afloat, isn't a very good company. Even worse of an non-profit organization. I can't imagine that ACT employs someone who can care so little about people struggling in a low income community. I think ACT needs to reconsider who they employ, perhaps offer a job to one of the many homeless people walking on US 41 everyday, right outside of their footsteps. I promise you, those who have gone without would treat others with more kindness and respect.

There store states that they close at 6pm. There door also states they close at 6pm. We arrived around 5:30ish to be met at the door by a lady employee. The employee unlocked the door and had an attitude and a “why are you here” kinda look. We asked if you were open to be turned down. Reading these reviews I can tell this is not a new thing. Very rude staff and a lot of bad experiences. Will not be coming back.

Really big Thrift Store. Made a donation they came out back and grabbed everything, very nice. Also went inside, haha it was like a maze in the store, very interesting place. I’m sure that they take all donations. I would highly recommend taking your unwanted things here. Why consign, when you can give to a good cause? Donate! Pay it forward! 😊✌️💗 Second Act
