I find it amazing that the trailer my parents moved there in 1956 is still at 55 Pine Dr. That is a 66-year-old travel trailer still in use. Looking at the other trailers around it, many are the same as were there in the sixties. The park was originally owned by Ed Clouse who lived in a house one street south of the park. He and his son, Gene, ran a friendly park that catered to midwest retirees. For several years I was the only child in the park and had more "Aunts and Uncles" watching out for me than anyone. It really was an extended family, my family would stop at neighbors houses throughout Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. We even stayed at the Clouses summer home in Traverse City, MI. It was a nice place and I'm glad to hear that it is being cleaned up again.

Spreading Truth

The people of the park are nice people now the people that run the park are another thing. If you even slightly have a nice car they're going to take a picture of you I've seen them do it to quite a few people and vehicles. either wave and smile politely or don't go here.

Sunset village is the worst park there is...over crowded..and people speed through its unreal . kids live in the park and some one is going to get hit. Then the park can get sued. People are just down right rude.

3 years ago we got a new manager. Since this new manager has been here, Sunset Village has gone from a really nice place to live to not even being safe to visit. According to several of the new tenants, she (Kim) has got them from out in the woods and off the street, to move in this park, and the other parks that she also manages. if you like living next to pimps, hookers, junkies, and don't forget the dealers, this is just what you're looking for. Kim will agree to one thing one day and the next day clams she never did such a thing. She continually lies, will not corporate with tenants to sell their units (she won't pass the prospective buyers' background check, or she gives the buyers a unit for free]. only if the seller has a lawyer involved does the buyer get approved. The drunks have even chased me to my front door, which I slammed I his face so he couldn't get in. I reported this problem to Kim, she asked "What do you want me to do about it!". Kim has got done on her hands and knees and measured my grass with a ruler to be able to sight me for it being to high. If you want peace of mind and want to feel safe at night, you do not want to live in Sunset village.
