Wow. Great place to find information about almost anything that has to do with Florida nature. They have many weekly and or monthly classes to teach Floridians about how to keep Florida healthy and beautiful.

Hi, John. We have a couple of main ways to reach the Venice/Englewood area. First, we offer events, classes and workshops in that region and across Sarasota County, in addition to our slate of classes at our main Sarasota office. Second, you can request an expert speaker to come present on a range of topics of your choosing. If you would like to pursue the latter, just visit http://sarasota.ifas.ufl.edu/speaker. Hope that helps!

Hello, I have some big oak trees in my property that have very large ivy type vines growing up them. The ones with great big leaves. Someone told me the ivy will kill my trees. Is that true? Thanks

I have same thing and actually have a bunch of vines growing on both pine and oak trees and have not problems at all. You can get rid of them by cutting the bottom of the vine.
