My mother was recently there for a month. With the exception of a couple people, everyone there was very nice and accomodating to assist her with her needs. Genneth was an absolute Angel. Another direct care staff had a habit of complaining about other residents making messes. VERY unprofessional and certainly should not have been saying those things to another resident. The only other issue I had was with one of the nurses named Tashia O. who wouldn't allow me to see my mothers chart even though I am the POA and health surrogate. The follow through for continuity of care was sadly lacking. Because of this my mother suffered with shortness of breath due to having fluid around the lungs. I had to demand an X-ray be taken then once it was read, medication was finaly started. Once discharged Tashia O. brought in the papers for my mother's signature then just put them in an envelope for her assisted living facillity. She never went over any of the information or medications. My mother does her own medicine so because the discharge was less than informational this caused my mom to go annother 4 days with no medications before the confusion was clarified. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

My mother is currently there for rehab and has fared well except for some unkindness from some shift nurses. I know mom had a lot of brain fog after surgery and was pretty helpless, but she should not be treated rudely when staff does not respond to her call light in an hour and she goes for help because they didn’t close her medical drain correctly and it was issuing blood on floor. This is what she told me.. I live out of state, so I don’t know first hand as to how she is being treated, but it sounded rude and unprofessional to me. Very bullying. Overall, I know this is an excellent facility, but there are some issues. I know all nurses everywhere are overworked and underpaid and in stressful jobs this year, so my heart goes out to them.

Both my grandparents stayed here. My grandmother seemed as happy as she could be. The staff all greeted her in the hallways and her health improved under their care. My grandfather past while there. Staff was very helpful to the family. While staff seemed nice, the facility itself could use some work. I wish they had more of a garden to wheel grandma around in. They could also use a better family dining or meeting area. Sofas/ chairs are a bit sad.

My 93 year old mother stayed at Surrey Place to rehab from a back injury. She was there a total of 90 days. The staff was generally concerned over patients well being and recovery. After about 60days there my mothers condition inexplicably started to deteriorate. She became less mobil and fearful of moving. As her condition worsened the staff seemed to lose interest in working with her. At the end of her stay she suffered three skin wounds and needed to be hospitalized to surgically address the wounds. It was never made clear to us how these wounds had occurred. They all happened within three days and we were told she was “injured while transferring” During her hospitalization to address the wounds Surrey Place discharged her essentially wash8ng their hands. Toward the end of her stay there was lots of discussion about discharge planning but after she was sent to the hospital the administrative staff no longer provided any guidance. We were very disappointed and it felt like they just didn’t care.

My Mom has been in here 3 times, for after knee replacement care, shoulder repair after care and care after a fall w/ minor head bump and Covid-19 after care. We, her children were pleased, and she made great progress each time. She said she was treated w/ kindness and dignity. The only grumble was that her food was often chill by the time it got to her. We decided if that’s the worst thing, we can deal w/it!!!
