I arrived to my OTF studio (in Cary) exactly 5 minutes late due to a major car accident and traffic. I tried to explain this when I walked in the door on the dot (exactly after 5 minutes), and the staff members were beyond disrespectful. Two minutes after I walked in, another member entered who also impacted by the car accident; she was also dismissed. While I understand that most of the class seemed to be there, there was an utter lack of deference for external circumstances outside of a members control. Beyond that, my major issue with this scenario arose when both the other member and myself were both charged a late fee and utterly disrespected. Feeling unheard and dismissed was definitely disheartening, and I haven’t experienced this at any other OTF studio. It was also very disappointing to see that both me and the woman who was denied today were women of color. I understand there are rules, but the various aspects of the scenario does make me feel that as a minority, I should speak up on how we were spoken to. I understand rules and policies are necessary, but the way the staff acted towards me was actually ridiculous. I will not be returning to this studio.

TLDR; they'll get your heart rate up, but not from the workout Terrible experience all around. Been to a few fitness classes around the area, but man, never have I yet across front desk staff that are so rude, lazy and incompetent (comparable to dealing with Delta Airlines customer support). The instructor that day was also equally rude and unreasonable. I arrived within 5 mins of my class start time, but because no one was sitting at the front desk, they accused me of not having come early enough when really they were the ones slacking. When I tried to explain the situation, the instructor dismissed me by just walking away (probably thinks he's a sick guy). Then when the staff at the front desk finally reappear (like finding a rare shiny Pokémon) they simply say "nothing I can do bout it". Genuinely impressed by the effort, so helpful ain't it? This also isn't the first time I've experienced an incident like this at the Cary-McGregor location, so it seems like a pattern rather than one off incident. (Hence, why I decided to write a review) Was drawn initially by the few good reviews on Google but from this incident plus my previous encounter, I'd 100% stay away from this location. Dealing with these guys is a sure way to cancel out any potential endorphin rush you may / may not get from their workout.

OTF MacGregor is the best of the best!! Coaches are amazing and workouts are great - it works you out hard! Everyone who works here from coaches to staff to management are cheerful, respectful, professional, supportive, and fun!! They are so helpful, kind, and responsive to all of my questions. Best home studio to have!

I am so happy to be back at OTF in McGregor. I have missed the workouts, the fun, the atmosphere, the coaches, the loud awesome music and the kind people that work there. For those of you concerned about coming back to the gym, you should not worry about OTF at McGregor. They are doing an exceptional job to ensure everyone's safety. I thought OTF was clean and sanitary before, now it is beyond my expectations. While OTF was closed during the shutdown I realized how important my workouts were to my well being. I am not a person who loves to workout either but OTF has changed me. I can't wait to go to my next class. I can't thank you enough for opening back up. Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and positive and also to the coaches who make you feel like you were never gone. As for coaches, OTF at McGregor has the best. One of the new coaches, Peter, is great. He is energizing, talks to you and plays the best loud music that gets you moving. If you are an existing member please come back. You will not regret it. If you are thinking about joining, this is the place!
