If I could give zero stars I would! The lack of basic ER care. The substandard equipment are shocking to the conscious! My family member was transported to this hospital after a serious car accident (car was totaled) upon arriving at the hospital a PA looked at her and said she was an Express level 3 (I attended medical school at Boston University and was not familiar with this designation) it was explained to me that if the injuries seem serious you are a 1 or 2 if not you are an express 3 or 4. Apparently if you are an express they don’t take nor monitor your vital signs! Nor do they do an intake- you remain a Jane or John Doe. They don’t identify you, nor do they do a medical history. My family member clearly had a concussion and possible broken bones. My family member had amnesia and could not pass the three word memory neurologist test and was vomiting. The family member was left alone, unmonitored, no vital signs monitored-EVER! When another family member arrived an orderly was coming in insisting that the patient walk for an x-ray. The patient may have a broken leg and a fractured skull! Mind you at this point the patient still doesn’t have any identification nor has she had any evaluation of her head injury which clearly has temporal swelling and the patient looks drugged (patient has had no meds, drugged look is from head injury ). Fast forward 2 hours- I call and tell the PA I want her to see a neurologist. PA tells me she has to clear it with her attending.5hours later I’m told they have NO neurologist!!! 5 hours later in a small room in a wheelchair the entire time patients vitals are NEVER taken! The attending comes in and states there is NO neurologist at this hospital!!!! Even though I asked the PA who NEVER said they don’t have one and their website states they do! This hospital ER is less equipped than a general practitioners office. NEVER, EVER GO HERE! I had my family member go to Cedars Sinai as soon as she was released for basic ER care. I will be filing complaints with all the appropriate state agencies… I have to wonder how many patients have already died here due to the blatant substandard care.

The wait was incredibly long (about 5 hour wait) but I told a nurse it was urgent and I was having difficulty breathing and swallowing and they had me in shortly after. The nurses are incredibly sweet and patient if you make conversation easy and do exactly as you need to do. Was in ER room for quite a while (5-6 hours) until they were able to find an available bed/room. Currently in a room right now to figure out exactly what is going on but so far it has been a comfortable experience. The beds are pretty comfortable and nurses come by pretty soon if you call for them. Would definitely recommend this hospital if you come on a not so busy hour/day. If you are in urgent need, you might be waiting a while. Besides that, my experience has been pretty much okay. :)

There's only one thing I want to discuss that was negative. For now I will start with the positive. The Personnel inside the emergency room could not have been nicer. Rachel and Stephanie and a young man and a good doctor helped me in my moment of difficulty. They were thorough and explained. The reason it did not get five stars as because of the security guard at the entrance of the emergency room area. Very rude and abrasive two people including me. Sort of the kind of guy who enjoyed having his badge. Since it was the last thing that happened to me as I left, it really soiled my experience. And let me know precise that this did not just happen to me. I witnessed him being the same to another person. All-in-all I certainly highly recommend the emergency room of this Hospital. They have a lot of challenges as I saw them and their attitudes and work were commendable

I had an accident that ruptured ligaments, broke bones and dislocated my left ankle, and would require surgery to correct. The paramedics told me we were going to Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. I am so relieved that I trusted their informed recommendation. From the minute they rolled me into the ER, everyone was so professional and focused on my care; the attending doctor (Dr. Richard Banks) who oversaw my care, the nurses that helped me in/out of bed and around my room, the support staff who checked me in and worked through the insurance nightmare, and especially the surgeon (Dr. Benjamin Song) and his staff that put my ankle back together. The care I received exceeded my expectations and I am happy to be on the road to a successful recovery!

Xq not so bad is it?
This hospital is a killer place for the elderly people and they let bed sores come and do nothing for comfort until a family member is their to ask the nurse they is. Their for money only a nightmare before
I would recommend going across the street to Kaiser or a few miles over to Cedars Sinai. Hollywood Pres has so many malpractice suits against them and extremely unskilled medical staff so whatever you're trying to get treated for may be worsened there, or you may get a hospital borne infection as they don't follow cleaning protocols.
The way I got in touch with medical records was by calling their main number and asking to be transferred. Hope this helps
I was born there in 1974. I'd be interested to know the history. I know it was built Spanish inspired, possibly Catholic before especially with nuns? Okay found it, The Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart, the Catholic order that owned the Queen of Angels
