First, let me say that this rating in no way is a reflection upon the staff of the Radiology Department. They are all wonderful. However, the staff in the Laboratory are slow and are not at the least concerned with appointment times scheduled in the Radiology Department. Lastly the Registration Staff are terrible! There is no reasonable explanation to wait 30 to 45 minutes to sign in for a procedure previously approved and scheduled in the Lab and Radiology! There definitely need to be some improvements made with Registration. Common sense would dictate if there are surgeries and procedures scheduled in addition to Emergency Room Services, you should have trained staff on duty to handle the patients!

Wow is all I can say! My surgeon does his surgeries at this facility. I’d never been to this facility so was a little skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised. I’m an RN and a nursing instructor so have a tendency to critique everything. Don’t let small facilities deceive you! From the moment I walked into registration until I received discharge paperwork, I was treated with top notch kindness and respect. I spent the night in Room 114 and the nurses on that floor provided exceptional patient care. Karrington, Matt and Ginny are the 3 nurses I remember. Thanks for such a wonderful experience. I will be recommending this facility to family and friends.

I had the first appointment of the day, 7:30, and was 5 minutes early checking in. Then I wasn’t taken back until 7:45, then the nurse did vitals and I sat for another 20 minutes waiting on the provider while she talked about her weekend within earshot. Finally I was seen and an hour and a half later I had my labs and pap finally done. I just think there’s a way to be more respectful of the patient’s time than this.

I was in extreme pain and very sick when I presented myself to the Emergency Department late on a Saturday night. I was promptly met at the door of my vehicle by a nurse with a wheelchair who happened to see me as she was returning from break. It was a very cold night and snow was blowing, but she patiently waited for me as I slowly made my way out of the car to the chair. I was quickly registered, vitals taken, and triaged by another nurse. I did have a bit of a wait, which I expected, but was monitored by staff during that time. I appreciated the attention as I was feeling so poorly. Once I was taken back to be seen by the doctor, it was not obvious as to what was going on with me. At first look, the doctor told me that I had a superficial skin infection and would need an oral antibiotic. I explained that I had been to my PCP the day before who assumed the same diagnosis but that I had only become more nauseous and the pain was even more intense. Instead of treating me like a "seeker" of pain medication, as I had feared, he ordered an abdominal CAT Scan to see if he was missing anything. Indeed, the test revealed two pelvic abscesses that, had I not been treated quickly, would have caused sepsis. I was admitted that night, to a private room, where I was treated for the infection that had caused me such severe pain and nausea; but not only that, I was greeted warmly by a very attentive and caring staff that made me as comfortable as possible in my anxious state. I was inpatient from Saturday night to Tuesday night, until I had to be transported to another facility for surgery the following day. During my stay, I was visited by several different staff from administration to kitchen. Each one asking about everything from how the clinical staff was doing concerning my medical care, to my opinion on the food I had been served. Honestly, I had no complaints! I was immensely troubled when I realized I needed a trip to the hospital, but I was also concerned when I heard that I had to be transported to another facility, because I had felt that I had been spoiled during my experience at Plateau Medical and knew that no one else could meet that standard of care. Many thanks to everyone that I had the pleasure of meeting. I could never say enough great things about you all!
