We used Montclair veterinary hospital for our two cats and dog for almost ten years. Never again. We got an email on April 22nd stating they were closing the office that same day- after they'd already closed. Well, we were waiting on approval for some very important medicine for one of our cats who has severe allergies. VetnCare, the company that took over Montclair and shut it down with no notice, left us high and dry. We had to jump through hoops with two other vets to get this medicine. We just got an email stating how great it was that they were back in business with no acknowledgement of leaving all their patients and staff in the lurch. VetnCare is yet another bottom feeder corporation where your animal is just a number in their ledger.

First, it is true that I haven’t seen the same vet here twice, but the vets I have seen seemed to be fine and this is not a review of their care or of the staff. I’ve been taking my dog here for two years. He’s a senior now and developed a limp over the past month, so I called for an appointment and the soonest they could get him in was in 2 or so weeks. On Thursday this past week, they called to reschedule his appointment because they were able to get him in yesterday due to a cancellation. We saw Dr. Moulton who was really kind and caring, had X-rays done, and was told it would be a few days before radiology could provide results. Luckily, Dr. Moulton called at 3pm with the results. At 5pm on the dot, I got an email from Montclair Veterinary Hospital saying they are now permanently closed as of April 22! I have nowhere to follow up after I get my dog in to see a specialist as recommended. There was zero indication that this veterinary clinic would be permanently closed by the end of the day. Obviously the staff did not know, either! It’s clear that the private equity firm that bought MVH several years ago, and is apparently owned by a large group of vets, does not care about its customers, their pets, or the staff. This review is of them because obviously they just wanted to milk more money out of us customers rather than give us the heads up and choice to find a new vet earlier if we needed follow-up care. Shameful and unprofessional.

Just got an email this afternoon saying that Montclair Vet Hospital is permanently closing... TODAY! I tried calling them to see if I could get a copy of my dog's records (we've been going there for over 7 years) but the line was already disconnected. What an absolutely horrible thing to do to their hundreds of clients. Close without notice and no obvious way to get medical records. The worst.

Long story short, I have a ball python who already has a vet but I need a second opinion about a course of treatment. Reptile specialists are extremely difficult to find. This place was unwilling to speak to me at all because they aren't taking new clients. Not even a short phone consultation for an off record opinion. To me, this shows no actual regard for the well-being of a sick animal or it's human trying their hardest to do what's best for that animal.

I have a 10 year old Tabby Cat that has been spitting up yellow spit several times a day for 3 days, should I be concern? I also need to know the cost of a wellness check.

We have been taking our pets to Montclair Veterinary for several years. They have provided good care to our pets. Give them a call, they will give you the cost for a check up.

Moving to Hawaii with dog. All shots up to date but due for second rabies. HI requires FAVN Rabies Antibodies Test (appropriately packed &sent to approved labs; AU, KSU, DOD), approved external parasite treatment, and health cert. Can you do this?
