Our family really enjoyed our time here. The staff was super friendly, airplanes we're amazing and the museum had such awesome artifacts. Get ready for a walk because it is a bit big. We went in the dead heat and regretted that part but they have cold drinks for sale. You can feel the energy in the museum such a proud feeling! ✈️would recommend to every and anyone.

Surprisingly great air museum! They have all the typical planes you would expect, but also a few rare ones, like the B-36 bomber, which only has 4 airframes currently in existence. While it wasn't too bad during the middle of the day, in summer, I'd suggest going in the morning or evening in summer and middle of the day during winter because most of the aircraft are stored outside. While they do have an active volunteer program, it looks like they could use a few more regulars, because some of their projects are progressing rather slowly and various little things could use a little more TLC, e.g. many cockpit windows are dirty on the inside.

I went to Castle Air Museum because it had the B-36 and SR-71 to view. On this particular day, they had open cockpit for most of the displays. The Blackbird had its cockpit to view. It took a while to see as they allowed 3 people at a time to go up the plane. One of the caretakers said that they will soon get the F-117 fighter/bomber for display. I will definitely comeback to see this. I just am not sure when that will take place, but will be checking up their website to be sure.

$20 is expensive. Hard to find entrance since our inclination is to turn into the airport’s main road (don’t). 1 MiG 21; otherwise a vast collection of AF & navy planes.

Good question
Hi Qing! Yes, the Museum is currently open (08/05/2020, 12:53pm)
If you haven't seen the update, they moved it to Monday.
There is an ice cream stand and many items are $1 each, all you can enjoy. :-)
Not sure. There is wheelchair access though. When I was there I did not see any wheelchair inside the building or in the exhibition area.
Yes, enjoy. For extra money you can see inside the presidential air force 1
Yes
There really aren't tickets... you pay and walk in...if its for a gift, call them... see what they can do for you.
Dogs are allowed on a leash as long as you clean up after them.
Actually Today September 2nd they will do that. Today is the Open cockpit.
We paid $85 for 5 adults and 1 under eighteen years old in December 2017.
Yes they do
$20 for adults $15 for teens $10 for kids and $15 for seniors
They do the tours via docent every 30 min or so. You pay the fee for the tour, hang out in the cafe area and then the guide comes by, shows you some photos, gives you some history, then takes you out where you get to tour the plane and get more history and see more photos.
Downtown merced there's a museum.panic tables too.
