I want to love this pet store. It’s my neighborhood pet store. It’s a local business, and it caters to pets. Not all pets though. I come here for my mealworms, but today I was sorta proudly(?) told by the cashier that they don’t carry mealworms or crickets anymore. Now i’ll be taking my business to bigger, non-local businesses and won’t be supporting these guys anymore. A bummer for both of us.

Honestly, I had a good customer experience. Two years ago, one of my lovebirds died and I was calling every pet shop in the city, asking if they had any lovebirds. I was looking for a new friend for my Mochi. None of the shops had any, apparently they don’t like carrying them cos they’re vicious! But my mochi is a sweetheart!. When I called the animal company, they said they have something similar and apartment friendly. They mentioned a green cheek pineapple conure. So I stopped by and took a look. They seemed very sweet, very quiet. I felt it would be a good homie for Mochi, so I got one. And getting a conure was probably one of the greatest things ever. They’re so sweet and affectionate. The owner of the store, is super nice, she was super helpful and knowledgeable. She just knew what would work for me. The rest of the staff are great too.

I recently came by here to pick out a baby parakeet. I had been communicating with Ellen beforehand to know when there would be babies available for purchase and came in that weekend after I was told the news. She was extremely kind and was very prompt with her service, even though it was a little busy at the time I came in. I picked out a small blue and black baby and got to enjoy handling it before I decided to purchase it. I will be returning to visit the baby for the next several weeks until it is old enough for me to take home; I will update when I am able to take it home! They also have a good selection of other birds available for purchase, and it is quite lively in the store! I highly recommend them if you are looking for a new bird companion. They also have a large selection of pet supplies! Definitely check them out if you can. UPDATE: I've now had my bird for 2 weeks, and it has adjusted wonderfully to it's new home. It's healthy, eating well, and generally very happy. The day I picked it up, they told me to come back in a week to do a reweigh to make sure it's healthy. And thankfully, it is! Again, I highly recommend them! The price for a bird is what it is due to the care and love that goes into raising these birds, and you can truly see that pay off.

the animal company donates to Pets of the Homeless and other rescue groups
Sometimes..
yes, Outward Hound is the manufacturer
We do ship, however that is typically the wrong time of year. You should call for availability
They have lots of birds. Best thing is to call them or go visit. It's an awesome store.
There are no African greys right now. We do expect to get macaws sometime in late May...TACO
I can't add any more. Sormeh expressed it perfectly....TACO
You can also ask them if you can place a reservation since some birds are more popular and are on backorder.
I think the grays that they had were about 4,000 but you should call them and ask
I don't know, I use to have one and they are a great bird.
Dogs and cats can't be sold in SF. They believe in adopting dogs and cats. They only sell GREAT QUALITY companion birds
Yes, this is a great store for buying a bird!
No, I think the only pets they sell are birds.
You should go in there and look because they have lots of birds and if they dont have the one you want just walk in and ask do they have the type of bord you want.
And
It also depends on whether they are hand raised or not, hand raised are bonded to people and cost more than a bird that was raised by it's parents and is used to birds(will take patience and time to bond). Also how much noise you can tolerate, most birds are chatty, the finches are the quietest with their chirps(zebras kind of beep). It's best to talk to them and see what you can afford or make payments on(they do that for the more expensive birds).
I'd ask, you can probably put up a post that you have parakeets for sale. You could get $20 each
