I came in to get my hair dyed, and was told to reach out to Nadia by a coworker. I don't get my hair coloured often and my last colour was 8 months ago so I have pretty significant roots. For some reason, Nadia didn't dye my roots, which I didn't notice until the end because I could see she was covering my entire strands with the dye. When I saw the roots weren't done she said she "should have checked in first". I don't know why the assumption wasn't that I would want my whole hair dyed. I foolishly felt bad for her and figured I would deal with it. After sleeping on it, I still felt bad with my 8-month old roots and texted her to see if she could fix it. She accepted although she told me she would charge me again, albeit a little bit less, which I found a little distasteful since it meant paying twice for a single service. However the fix didn't happen either as Nadia ended up ghosting me. Serves me right for not requesting a fix then and there. -- 3/26 After seeing my review on Yelp, Nadia reached out and pretended she had me booked for an appointment (the last text we had exchanged was me asking when she was available). I told her I wasn't comfortable being charged twice for her mistake, and she 1) lied by saying she was only charging for products used (she had said she would "only charge for partial highlights"), then consented to bringing the price down (half of 125, which she claimed is 75... she was determined to get me to pay more), and 2) she doubled down on not taking responsibility by claiming that having roots out is "a technique and a trend called ombré) as if I'm a moron and 3) ghosted again when despite it all, I figured I'd eat the BS additional cost. All this for what? To save her pride? She couldn't just say she messed up and just fix it? Horrid, dishonest behaviour.

Let me start by saying that this salon it was not very welcoming they look at you like you're crazy and make you feel uncomfortable. The stylist deijones act like she didnt know i had an appointment. The prices are outrageous for people that are struggling in the pandemic. Theres nothing on the website that states explanation pertaining to the deposit down if its refundable or non-refundable. I've been to hair salons that really wasn't fancy but was very professional and very reasonable as they say everything that looks good is not good. I would never go back there

This review is is not directed at the salon itself but my experience with one of the stylists. I went to the salon’s “natural hair only” stylist for a braid up a couple months back and the appointment went fine with the exception of her asking that I come in at 8:30 in order to start her 10:00 client on time. I agreed and arrived at 8:30 but waited about thirty minutes while she worked on another client. While that was confusing it wasn’t a deal breaker. I was patient. The wash blow dry and braid went fine. I paid her with tip, and left. The actual braid she installed was satisfactory enough for me want to return when it was time. Fast forward, I tried to make another appointment with the stylist. I didn’t expect a problem, I called her on the phone, asked if I could schedule, she said she was on the way to the shop and would get back to me. She never got back that day so I followed up with a text. No reply. I wanted to get a braid done again soon so I made a final attempt to reach her on the salon phone. She answered and seemed to have no legit explanation to offer, so I was clear that I needed to move on. Maybe she was booked and busy for the summer, or maybe something else. Whatever it was, I just expected better. However, it all worked out, I found someone else to do the job, so all is well.
