By far, the Pyramid Mountain trails are the most exhilarating to navigate through, and provide the most shade during the sunniest of the days and have one of the most diverse trail topologies in the neighborhood. Be sure to use the AllTrails app or have the trail map snapshots handy, for, it is easy to go on a longer than planned route. The tripod rock isn’t the final destination, but is surely one of the popular stopovers along the trail. Enjoy it alone, with friends or the entire family alike.

Nice hiking spot, close to Morristown! We brought two dogs here and did a 3.4mile loop. Although the high of the day was close to 80 degrees in town, we went in the morning, and with all the tree shade, it felt more like 72 when we walked. FYI for dog owners - it can get rocky and steep in some areas; if you have a dog that is reactive or pulls, be prepared for some narrow, steep paths, though not many.

Super charming with pyramid rocks, lakes, and NY skyline view. Very popular park. Caught off guard by a snake.

The trail is pretty good and well marked. There is a small stream with a wooden bridge over it. We had my toddler with us and he had a great time too. Very clean too.

Yes
Trails are open sunrise to sunset. https://www.morrisparks.net/index.php/parks/pyramid-mountain-natural-historic-area/ There are a couple of nice viewpoints, on a clear day you can see the NYC skyline from some of them. Also some interesting glacial erratics - "Tripod Rock" is the most well known. The different trails are all varied and excellent, check in the visitors center for suggested routes. Visitors center is open daily 9am to 4:30pm.
Unfortunately in the 'Rules and Regulations' it mentions no aviation apparatus. What's with these silly rules all over? You can't fly in basically any park state, or forest. Yet you can walk around with a gun in the forest and shoot animals. But I can't fly a drone to take pictures? These laws are stupid.
No. You can get an Uber but this is out in suburbia so don't expect city response times.
