Our 12 yr old grandson has been coming here for about a year. He loves the animals, the land, the people. When we travel, he rides at other ranches. Afterward, we ask him to rate the place where he just rode on a scale of 1-10, he usually says 7, maybe 8. Then we ask him to rate Shadow Glen and he happily and emphatically gives them a 9500 😁. Their style of teaching works so well for him, too, and that is a difficult thing for us to find sometimes. If you aren't sure about group lessons, try an individual lesson to test the waters. You won't regret it.

The staff was so nice and friendly! I was nervous with it being my first time and they made sure to ease me and I got to ride Betty❤️ It was a great expertabd we will be going back! Our wrangler Maya was great to talk with and very interactive with our group also. Good people & good experience

We went to Shadow Glen Family Stables today to experience nature and we were not disappointed! We scheduled a trail ride a few weeks back and from the moment we arrived the courteous staff took great care of us. We were each assigned a beautiful and well cared for horse and in no time we were off on our way. This place offers trail rides and lessons so if you have a young family member who is even remotely interested in ranch life (e.g. horses), schedule a birthday trail ride and see if they are ready for lessons! Oh and before I forget, Justin (our Trail Guide) was awesome! So request him if you can.

First timers here and they made it super easy and fun! We were super nervous but they assured and made us comfortable. We did the one hour ride and it was super worth it, wish we could’ve done the two hour ride instead. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Love love it!!! Best first time experience. If you’re looking for a great first time experience, this is the place to be!!!! Kids had a great time. My nephew was a born cowboy by the end of the trip. Thanks to the staff for allowing us to borrow their horses and trails. #teamhoudini

Yes they do! Western only, they also offer scenic trail rides along the folsom river with options of 1 to two hour rides, their Quincy ranch also offers a huge variety of family activities.
