At 57, I may be the oldest student at the North location. Over the past year I have been able to lose weight, gain muscle, coordination, endurance, and confidence at Stoudt’s in Zelienople. The youngsters in the class (mere teens, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s) are there for the same reason. I drive 25 minutes to and from the gym for both the quality of the instruction and the students.

I've been training BJJ, Muay Thai, and MMA here for over a year and I plan to stick around as long as I can. The instruction is top quality, and the people I train with, well they feel like family. No egos and no hot-heads. All levels of expertise are welcomed and the class-level range from beginners to competition. A lot of positive encouragement is given by both instructors and peers. I find the classes challenging and the instructors push you to improve. Check it out! Update: 4 years after I started with Stout, I am still training with them and plan to be with them until I can no longer physically possibly train (at which time I'll just hang out). My wife and 2 boys train here too. I am writing this in response to that one really negative review. If you read it and compare it with the other reviews, you will see that the reviewer's level of expectation was unrealistic for the type of gym Stout is. This is a real martial arts gym and there is a risk to training. If you want that personal experience then you need to take private lessons or hire a personal trainer. Getting her face "gouged"? Never seen that in my time there. Perhaps being a bit dramatic? I get it, you walk into a gym and you are not getting the personal attention you expect so it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. At peak times, you may have 3-4 concurrent classes with all the instructors busy and perhaps the front desk worker was out that day. It does not take away from the fact it is good instruction and good members. For anyone new coming in, you take away a lot by just watching how the instructors interact with the members and how the members interact with each other.

As a person who has had a prior experience several years ago at a different school I can say that Stout is a breath of fresh air. You go at your pace and it is as competitive as you want it to be without the BS. Overall I really like the classes, instructors, and the accommodations. A-plus.

Stout is a great place to train. I started taking classes a couple months ago and the experience has been awesome. Staff is friendly and the instructors are very knowledgable. I highly recommend checking them out.
