Cancelled my membership about two months after I got it. Such a filthy gym. I understand being 24 hours and typical wear and tear by customers. However, I rarely have seen any employees cleaning but chit chatting with each other or on their phones. Half the time there are cleaning spray bottles empty that doesn’t allow people to wipe down equipment after themselves. I do not think the bases of the treadmills or any machines have been wiped down since the gym opened. Mold growing in the water fountain. You would not catch me touching the floor to do a push up, I would be scared to get an infection. The employees aren’t welcoming and rarely say hi or bye.

I tried coming in with the 3-day trial pass several times, but kept getting denied. First it was because guests need to be registered before 10pm -- no problem. Then, I tried coming in the next day and was told I wouldn't be able to because it is short staffed, and most recently, the front desk refers me to the Hilltop 24 Hour Fitness as apparently the El Cerrito location doesn't allow guests due to covid... very confusing. Guess I'll be sticking with City Sports.

This is one of the best gyms I have been to. There are tons of free weights and machines for people to use. It can be quite crowded at times, but that is expected. Overall, I have met some really nice people and had awesome workouts. The staff are also very nice and helpful when you need something. I have seen other reviews complain about cleanliness or gym etiquette but I have not had an issue in either area. The gym is relatively clean, most people wipe down their machines (though sometimes the bottles are defective/are empty but they have plenty of others). Similarly, I have never had a problem with gym etiquette; most people are respectful of your space. And I have been to other gyms with truly abysmal gym etiquette (i.e., people just taking weights from you, skipping you while waiting for a machine, or saying rude comments).

My only issue with this location is not with the gym but the people who lack proper gym etiquette. People leave empty water bottles/trash on the floor, don't return dumbbells to the rack (Hint: the numbers on the rack match the numbers on the dumbbell) and my biggest pet peeve is the people who take plates from the squat rack without asking the person using the rack.

It's 25 yards long in El Cerrito
40 something per month
For now it is open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. How is the covid-19 going, it seems that it will be until next year
Depends on what class, but generally no. Get to any class 10 minutes early to guarantee you'll get your desired spot.

No, they open tomorrow at 6am. Merry Christmas!
They have free guest Fridays, otherwise I think you can ask for a guest pass from the counter once a month.
