Questions & Answers

We got Carbon Monoxide detectors for our home. The internet check for placement of of CO Detectors suggest: 6in. from the ceiling, 6in. from the floor, and 5ft. up the wall. Which is correct?.

Mary, Carbon monoxide had a very similar relative density to air. Which means it does not raise or fall consistently like heat does. It flows with air currents more than anything. That means there is no "ideal" place for a CO alarm. One on each floor and centrally located provides the best level of coverage.
